Do you mean pain in the arse? :D

Considering the fleeces are still in a somewhat raw state when they're shorn, Royal Mail, DHL etc might charge danger money

We bag our fleeces up & sell them to the wool marketing board.

Edit: there may well be permits needed for transporting fleeces; in case parasites/disease could be spread. Ad'lan do you know?

Yes I mean pain in the arse, some sites have filters to stop me from writing plain English (I'm pretty sure at least one also counted up the number of 'naughty' words and automatically banned you when you hit a quota ) so I've got out of the habit........Piss! Bum!! Willies !!! :D

I'm interested in getting a raw fleece, preferably from a primitive or at least an unimproved breed (as in one thats been around over a hundred years) because I was told that those types of fleece are better (easier) for drop-whorl spinning (learning how to do that is on my 40 for 40 list)

As Ad'lan (thanks mate) reckons theres no problem what would it cost me and when do you shear ?

My sheep are Texels. The most non-primitive breed you can get
Blue Leicester fleece is very good.

Edit: Shearing is usually done in May/June. Let me know if you're still interested then & I'll ask a Blue Leicester breeder about pricing etc :)
Texel fleece is poor quality as they're primarily a 'meat breed'

I've been mind numbingly busy since I last posted but still lurk around, planning on being a lot more active this year. I'll try and get a little write up done on making your own hair rigs for fishing and weight making too if anyone is interested.

Don't know if you are aware but handguns are still available on an S1 licence in NI, I have a few friends that regularly do practical pistol.

I'm not sure you want the most primitive. I mean, we kept Jacobs, and the wool could be like steel. Very tough, and water repellent when raw though. We had loads of it, but recently, lots of the out buildings are cleared for my uncles furniture restoration, so I no longer have mountains of it sitting about.

ForgeCorvus they are like clouds

I honestly don't know how much a quality fleece is worth :? A good guess is in the £20-£30 region plus the postage.
