Would have to work out living costs though, I can barly survive here and I live with my parents. So if I were to move out I would need more hours/cheap food/somewhere to live

There's very few full time jobs about anywhere at the minute :(
I got made redundant last October after 9 years. Thankfully I'm gainfully employed as a sheep farmer now :D

You see what can happen if we talk :-) . Mailak, sorry to hear about your knock back. I went for Tesco,s accelerated management scheme last year, but didnt hear back from them. I think I was lucky. Now I'm at college in Dundee, doing something I should have done years ago. All the best.

Angry Sapper

Was up to 4am last night. Helping with a c-section. Fascinating!
I helped pull the thread taut when the vet was stitching up the incisions 8-)
Both are doing well.

Sounds like time to buy a license and get the air rifle or shotgun out.

You have land, and a valid reason to get one. A Shotgun licence shouldn't be an issue.

An Old members guide:
http://zombiehunters.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=46928

And a decent air rifle is available without a licence. Practice with cans all summer, and by next autumn, you can have fresh pheasant.

Our vet also owns a gunsmiths. I've been thinking about chatting to him about getting a gun. We already have the required locked/wall mounted gun safe. :)

I'd rather shoot crows than pheasants to be honest. Pheasants don't peck the eyes/navels out of lambs :?

Crows or Rooks?

Rook pie is tasty. Dickens gives a good description of a Rook shoot in the pickwick papers.

Rooks, but we have a small population of hooded crows.
I like corvids...just not their more nasty habits.

Right. In Spring, April or May, the Rooks will just be learning to fly. The young rooks will sit out on the branches and then you can pretty much just plink them off with a .22 or an air rifle. Or a Shotgun. They are quite tasty at that time.

Check the http://www.basc.org.uk website for more info, but I'm pretty sure both rooks and hooded crows (in NI, in england they are under some debate), are considered pest species, and so no licence is required to control them.

Bush, you're in NI on a farm, no need to buy a gun. I'm sure if you get a metal detector you might find something the boyo's left for a rainy day.

Ad, as for transportation. Complex paperwork only comes into effect if you get caught.

Angry Sapper. Please don't suggest to a Mod on the ZS forum that we break the law. That's against the rules. I'd have to come down hard on it if I thought anyone else would read this section.

But seriously though, we don't ever talk about breaking the law on ZS. Seriously, we're more than just a bunch of dudes on the internet. You and me are both members of her Majesty's forces, if we break the law, you could suffer serious penalties, and I'd be kicked out of the cheap, OTC bar  and ZS is a charitable organisation with serious real world activities, we don't want the forum showing up the good works of our chapters with discussions of illegal stuff, be it explosives, or sheep transportation.

Explosives + sheep transportation
Anyone else just get a flashback to the film Four Lions?

Wondered how long it would take for you to get all moderator on me :-)

I will of course add that illegal sheep carcase transport is actually not very high on my list of things to do before I die.

As for the OTC being part of the military, please. Only in the loosest possible way, somewhere on a par with the acf.

Now explosives and sheep, that's a different matter. Good clip, I,d never seen it before.

Hence why you would get in trouble, and I wouldn't get access to the cheap bar. But please, I'd like to think we're a little more military than the Cadets, or the Cadet Instructors. We at least, don't need to hybridise two webbing belts into one for example.
