Well, based on Raptor's observation, and the amount of money so far I believe it would be a lot cheaper to obtain several smaller boats instead of a big one with capacity for a crew of 8 and 70 guests.

Examples:

$450

That is the only one capable of sailing I found on Copart.com at the time, but there are usually a bunch of them before summer.

I'll kick in $250 if I can be in charge of the powder kegs and cannons.. ZSS gunner and blows crap up guy... I'll kick in some Capn Morgan and raise you some Mackinlay Scotch - aka Shackleton's recreated Scotch...
Arrrrr, Pillage the village and blow it up...
Does anyone actually know how to sail or is this going to be a big party ship sitting in a harbor somewhere?

Oh wait, I get sea sick. I can manage the on shore powder supply.

It has a motor if we get tired of sailing it.

ETA- hush, tazmanny. It's a pirate ship, not a motley flotilla of miscellaneous crafts.

Since we're buying position in a feudal manner, I'll throw in the unused portion of the procedes from selling my BOL Cabin (at least $1,000 I hope), to list me and mine on the Ship's Rolls in these various positions:

Kutter - "Noone of Consequence" - "Boarding Crew Officer" - "Training Officer"

Mrs Kutter - "Captain of the Ship's Roller Derby Team" - "Head Rum Wench"

Eldest Son(7) - "Deck (Swabbing) Officer"

Daughter(3) - "Ship's Hellion"

Baby Boy(1) - "Ship's Boyby"

I can offer a small chest of booty - gold rings, pearl necklaces, even a few pair of diamond earrings for you to loot; as well as homemade hooch.
Don't sail well, but I can be the woman who runs the local tavern when you sneak onto shore.

I'll double my original $20 offer, if I can be the guy to throw the "don't come near this ship" switch on the Phalanx gun. We do need a close-in weapons system, right?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8t8ZpvW0WMo

After I'm done throwing the ON switch on that, I'll brew the ship's coffee. We'd be pretty sorry pirates if we all fell asleep due to lack of caffeine.

I have a bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label and $32.59 I can throw into the pot. I don't even need to be in charge of anything else... Let me be the Official Officer Of Myself And All Things Related To My General Well Being. I'll totally be "same team" with all of you... AND I'll bring my own ammo.

I'm in for $100, some grog and limes and a sabre or three. Since we're bidding on positions, ship's carpenter suits me :) But I'll want the fo'c'sle suite as me shop.
ShortFieldBreak....wouldn't a Barque sail a bit different from a tops'l gaff rigged schooner? The schooner is faster and much better windward and can raise more canvas with less crew.
