Pic of me and Dusty, having a light moment while putting the Jeep back together after getting the interior Line-X'ed. The facial expression pretty much sums up my opinion on the folk that cannot seem to read the first post, the rules to the thread, and put up whatever.

BOV destination options;

45 minutes east of me...
Image

45 minutes west of me...
Image

Image

4 hours south of me...
Image

Image

North of me is SLC and that would be a bad place to go.

I can fit my family of four and enough gear for about 72 hours. I can go 75 mph on the highway and crawl over, through and around almost anything to get to a safer place. It is a work in progress like all Jeeps but I have run almost every trail in Moab without a hiccup. That is a pretty good test of it's get the hell out dodge-ness.

I am going to get a 30 gallon tank from GenRight to double my range... http://www.genright.com/ProductInfo.asp ... id=GST6007

people in stock rigs and cars are screwed!!!

'06 Ranger FX4 Level 2, all stock. Comes with the 4.0 V6, Bilstein shocks, torsen limited slip, skid plates, Alcoa rims, and 31" BFG AT's. Pretty great all around / starter truck for the average guy interested in getting a bit muddy. Certainly a good BOV.

Image

I bought it with the intentions of doing some light logging roads and whatnot for getting to hiking trailheads, but I've since caught the offroading bug. It does pretty awesome for a stock truck -- it's reasonably compact and rides high enough to get me through all but the crazy technical trails. The limited slip in the back kicks ass -- I notice it kicking in even in rain sometimes. Love this truck. My next vehicle will definitely have a shorter wheelbase, though. I'm thinking a Bronco or a Wrangler. A little Tracker / Sidekick like my buddy there has would be fun too (and economical!), but I like having a bit of power.

Newer pics of the BOV: First pic just shows the black wheels, and the others are newer.

Rigid Industries D2 in Hybrid Flood config; they might look goofy aimed outwards like that, but it gives me an amazing side and forward view of the road, great to see animals. I will eventually be getting a Rigid 6" bar for between the two for long/medium range forward lighting. While they are expensive they are unbeleivably better than halogen lighting. Similar to HID, but a little cheaper and like 1/20th of the amp draw. The D2's are each 2600 lumens and draw around 1.2 amps @ 12 volts. Amazingly efficent, and Made in the USA.

I ride it ever day to work. This day just happened to have some snow on the ground. I need to find a place for my shotgun mount, kinda like what cowboys would have. Other than that, I'm ready to get out of dodge at anytime. I have a cache of stuff that will help me.
