My BOB Post, Pic Heavy! (UPDATED 22MAR13)

Second shipment of barrels is in!!!! Got the ones I wanted. Blue 55gal and blue 15gal. I already have some cleaned inside, outside and labeled. These will complete my water storage preps. I have enough stabilized potable water for 6 months at 2gal a day per person! WOO HOO! Added to easily 6 months worth of shelf stable, easy prep foods I rotate into my main pantry and meal planning. I'm a happy camper!

I was able to give a couple away to group memebers while a few cut in half will serve as ice tubs and keg stand during partys. (They were sacrificed for the greater good!)

I can't really speak for other people because I'm not them but my favorite season is the winter mainly because I make the moast money that season plowing and shoveling. But the whole fun of lighting a fire and watching Movie in the cold.

Picked up some books, a little light winter reading.

Kobalt tools from Lowes. I know they are not Snap On's but do have a lifetime warranty. $99 with my 10% Vet discount. I thought this set was pretty inclusive secure and portable. It includes both Standard & Metric tools. I won't be using these around the "compound." The whole kit will be added to my grab n go stores. Always good to have tools available! (I think it's out for the holidays, I don't know if it is available.)

That's a nice stash of food stuffs. In the case of the Zombipocalypse, of course, you'll have to eat the ice cream first. There's worse things.

But seriously, I need to do better on the food end. I have maybe a month's worth, mainly in a few varieties of beans, rice, and some canned goods. Also a lot of spices. No reason to eat bland in an emergency. Tip there: shop at your nearest Indian grocery. They sell half pound bags of spices, dried peppers, huge bags of rice, lentils, and beans, and a substance called Ghee which is a pretty tasty shelf-stable version of butter.

What are those giant TV dinner looking things in the bottom of the shelf to the left of the white plastic food bucket?

Those TV Dinner trays are USGI T-Rations, aka T-Rats.
From the couple I've had, I can't say I'd put them on them high on the list of desirable survival food.

I just hope you have a good generator to keep all those freezers running when the power goes out. I seen a bucket of wise food in one picture, what do you think of it. I tried to get some of the samples from them and the rep I exchanged e-mails with was not very helpful, He want to sell me a big order not just a few packs to try 1st. Kinda shy-ed me away from them. From the looks of it you have planned well. Right now I have a 2 months supply of rotated stock here, due to limited space. Thats why I was looking at the wise food with its longer shelf life.

Collie, good idea looking around for food options in other than obvious places. I only worry since it's not stuff I normally eat, but again good idea thinking outside the box.

Budliteguy, I do along with a rotation schedule to keep various appliances running and small fuel store. (Some preps I won't get into sorry ) Far as Wise goes I've tried a couple entrees and liked them all. You can get a pouch as a free sample or they have an inexpensive sample pack for sale. As I said previously in this post I like the Wise option. The long shelf life, easy prep, even being able to eat right outta the pouch are all good reasons to me. The kicker is the Bucket it's self. For grab-n-go the buckets beat the hell outta #10 cans to me. Plus I can use the buckets for a loo or "waterproof/crushproof" storage or hauling storing water etc etc etc. Multi-use items = win

I have not seen these before even though I do get down south to train with our US friends regularly, I assuming I was not in the right place at the right time to be able to feast on the T-rats

Quick question... Regarding the E&E and the Long Pockets attached to your main Kifaru bag how do you keep them from now sagging down. I put the E&E on my Kifaru G2 ZXR and it is sagging even when pulled taught... any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Richter, the black spots are not paint. They are pre-cut pieces of skateboard friction tape that aid in purchase when reloading. They are pre-cut for Magpul P-Mags. I number mine with a red paint marker. Same marker I use for tick marking scopes, mounts etc.

Sorry if I missed any comments about the Pmags but did you paint some of these mags tan or did you just buy the tan mags? I am working on getting more mags and have decided to spend the extra money and go with pmags instead of GI mags. Also what are your thoughts on keeping pmags loaded to full capacity all the time, or do you change them out here and there? Very impressive set up you have
