The year is 1411

(Assuming the reader is male)

You are stuck on guard duty in your highly populated town in England due to an arrow in your knee related injury. You have a nasty limp and cannot run fast.

The last wave of the Black Death wiped out 60% of your town's total population (Let's say 10,000 people live here total). Only now, the dead are coming back to life and consuming or turning the living into them. The streets are in chaos and the town is crumbling.

Your family, wife, 2 kids, and adult son, are on the other side of the city. Your household was untouched by the last wave of sickness.

What do you do?

(Assuming the reader is female)

You are a maid in your Lord and/or Lady's house. Your two daughters and loving husband are dead due to the Black Death's touch more than 5 years ago.

Right now undead are pounding at the front door to your castle, and it's just a matter of time before they get through. All but the 3 most loyal of the guards have already abandoned the royalty they are sworn to protect or have turned into the undead themselves through contact or exposure to the plague.

You've been asked to take up arms, against the better judgement of the loyal guards, by your Lord and/or Lady.

What do you do?

That would depend. You stated a town so one option would be to leave town, circle around and get home from behind. Option two is that the armor by the end of the Hundred Years' War was very well crafted full plate and would be pretty effective protection from unarmed zombies. As long as you went slow, didn't draw to much attention and managed to stay on your feet it would be a good chance you could get home.
The deeper you go in the forest the more things there are to eat your horse. Image

Where are the dead coming from? Were they traditionally buried within the town walls, or without? Assuming it's a walled town, you might want to get out and stay out, rather than be stuck inside a Zombificated enclosure. Yes, "Zombificated" is totally a real and legitimate word.

In scenario one, do what Bonanocrom recommended - if you can leave your post in good conscience.
In scenario 2, how well did you like the "lord and lady?" I kid. Dispatch the undead within and reinforce the doors amap. Is their  therea tower, a turret, a high spot on the walls that overlooks the entrance to the doors? If you have projectile weapons, retreat to a higher vantage and pick off as many of the mothershufflers at the gate as you can, weather the initial waves and then try to sneak out when things quiet down outside, which quiet down they will once everyone is dead. If you hunker down real quiet and don't make a peep, Brownian Zombie Motion will reduce the concentration of zeds at the door after awhile.

The dead are coming from everywhere. 60% of EVERYBODY have died in the past four days due to the plague. There hasn't been time to realize the full weight of the situation, let alone mourn or bury the dead people lined in the streets and in everyone's home. What was once a sanitation issue has now become an issue of life or death, the undertakers themselves were also victim to this plague so no one has been buried.

I'm taking some guesses here, but...
there is no gasoline, cars don't exist anymore.
Weapons still do, gunpowder is still being made, but not in mass production.

I'd be grabbing my horse (it's like a wheelchair, cause of my knee), and riding hard through town. The armor on my legs is bite proof, and I have a sword, which I can use while riding. I'm going to rescue my family, hopefully they are all at the house and safe. If I don't own other horses, I'll be on the lookout for some that are also wanting to escape the town.

In my mind, I'd be thinking, why don't we decapitate our dead? Didn't we learn anything about Zombie's the last time? At least we could sever the spine or lock them down to the ground, can we afford not to do something to stop them from rising?
