I am writing a paper for my english class and the topic is a research paper of sorts. My question, and I apologize if this is in the wrong section, is what would be the best place to be if a zombie apocalypse was to happen? how would you fortify or use what you have to your advantage? And besides the biological aspects of how zombies would act what could i use as a 3rd point of interest? thank you for your time and if possible please respond quickly because the rough draft is due tomorrow. thanks again mike

thanks for the replies, positive or not, the point of the paper is to be able to site sources so anyone that writes a useful response will be quoted as an authentic source. i would like more realistic view points on the subject that way i can relate is more easily. and I have done research thank you very much but i didnt have time to sift through countless threads to find the answers i want. if any would like to read the final product or what i have so far please pm criticism would be much appreciative. keep in mind i am somewhat of a newbie when it comes to this and the stuff in my essay is grade a bullshit, but i used the word hypothalamus so i sound smart lol.

12th grade expos writing class, and just so its clear i wasnt asking you to do my hw I just dont know much about this subject and couldnt think of a last reason for the essay and the reason i needed help was because i needed to quote people ( so Auslander make it good and you get a co staring role in my essay)

ZS is all about educating people, so I will be glad to help. As far as your first questions, Auslander answered it... If your home is are already prepared for emergencies & as secure as it can be from people entering it uninvited, you don't need to do much if there was a "zombie invasion".

ZS uses the zombie thing as a metaphor for any worst case scenario of bad shit happening, natural disaster, rioting, alien invasion... whatever

So maybe your paper is assuming a person has no specific emergency preperations? And in that case, what should they do... if zombies invade? It would still be nice to have details... What was the person's initial situation? City dweller? Cabin in the woods? firearms own/have experience with? medical training? etc.

As a general rule/good place to start... if the general population IS the danger, as it would be in a zombie situation, getting away from large population centers would be a good start... More people = more zombies.

I think what other people are getting at is that your exact question has been asked and answered within these forums before. Since you're talking about citing sources (note spelling: it's "cite" not "site"), it appears that actual research is part of your school assignment. Sooner or later you're going to have to learn that research, whether at the college or the high school level, is not a matter of finding a convenient forum and simply asking someone to provide you with the answers. Research is work that you have do to identify available information, survey and evaluate that information, and then utilize it for your writing and/or to more tightly focus your subsequent research.

Now, interviewing a subject matter expert (SME) is an entirely valid part of any research project. But word to the wise; it you’re ever researching a serious scholarly topic and are fortunate enough to have access to a true SME, understand that person will quickly and rather testily show you the door if you arrive at that interview unprepared to ask questions that go beyond what you could have learned with a little initial reading of some basic secondary sources. That’s just wasting his/her time and would be considered disrespectful.

So at a minimum, we'd expect you to avail yourself of the search function at this site. After doing that, I think that posing follow up questions based on what you’ve read would be very appropriate and I'm sure folks here would be willing to help. Thank you for the responses and the links. I had no intention of disrespect towards anyone one my goal was to get information. I didn't realize your search function was so important. And this isn't a college paper I know how to find real sources but zombie experts seem to be far a few between. The sources I use didn't have to be scientist they could be friends or who ever else I could get to say something the essay was solely for the purpose of learning how to write a journalistic research paper. I appreciate you finding the threads for me and all the positive responses I got but don't make me feel like an asshole over something so small. Instead of writing some long explanation about how I can't use the search button how about you help me instead. Thanks for the life lessons guys if anybody would like to actually help me rather than pick at what I did wrong please pm otherwise just pass over my thread and keep to yourself. I'm not looking to start a fight or be some jerk so why should you.
