The best things that the most common and popular calibers have going for them is the higher affordability they can be found at and stockpiled before a disaster, not their potential loot factor (discussion of which is very frowned upon).
The last thing I want to be doing in a disaster is to have to leave whatever relative safety I may have to go scrounging for anything, including ammo.
