Not sure that anyone has any idea how many "preppers" there are, or what the threshold would be for minimally vs. adequately prepared. Clearly, though, there is a large and by most indications growing number of people who are uneasy about what might be coming down the pike and are getting ready for a SHTF or TEOTWAWKI scenario. I'm wondering what role movies like "Contagion" have in opening people's eyes to what could happen if a natural or man-made disaster struck. I'm always curious as to how individual "preppers" had their "a-ha!" moment and how much of a priority preparedness is in their daily lives. I would also hope that some of those alleged millions of preppers live in my 'hood - ideally, several, so the desperation quotient hopefully won't be quite as off the charts if, God forbid, things go pear-shaped.
