Judging by the Doctor's parting shot to Dorium a.k.a 'blue head in a box', he seems to agree with you -and I paraphrase-
"I got too big, too many people know about me. Time to step back, time for me to go back into the shadows"

Yup, and I'm hoping that is a sentiment that both the Doctor and the writers can keep.

Just a peeve regarding the production of the show, many times I have to pause and rewatch a scene because the actors are speaking so fast that I miss what they are saying. That is almost always combined with the background music being so loud that it's no longer in the background. Music should add to the drama but not be so loud that I'm unable to hear the actors speaking their lines. I've noticed that in several shows recently and so have other members of the family. We've begun watching shows with the Closed Captions on so that we can lessen the chance of missing what's being said. It's not just TV shows but some movies. This past week we watched the movie Priest and ended up pausing the disk and turning on the subtitles for it. So many TV shows and movies have become overpowered by the music and background effects (explosions, gunshots, tires screaching) that they are almost unwatchable. It ruins the experiance for us.

I agree.

I can look back with great pleasure to watching some black and white films from the 30's and 40s......no background music at all for the most part. A few would have a short burst of music at a dramatic climax, but at a still far lower volume than the dialogue. Slim chance of seeing that again.... :(

So, did anyone catch the Christmas special?

I'll admit, the first 60 seconds kind of tells you what happens in the last sixty seconds. After all, we're talking about a person who uses the reset/rewind/fast forward button on the universe like a caffeinated monkey.
Not to mention, it's a Christmas story. And the Doctor/Caretaker.

Kinda sucks to have to wait till September though for S07.

Signs and portents say We lose Amelia Pond and Rory Williams mid-season.

I watched a Matt Smith interview Saturday night and he said that Karen decided it was time to move on, that her character had been played out.

As for the special, I did enjoy it, even if it was a bit predictable. The best line however, was at the very end when The Doctor is at the door, looks at Amelia, and says "I'm not really good with time, how long has it been?"
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. But, in practice, there is.

I'm going to call it.

Amy Pond-Williams dies saving her daughter, River Song. Rory may die as well. After living 2000 years straight protecting her in the Pandorica, how could he go on?

I agree with the general net assessment that Amy dominated season 6, way beyond almost any other companion in the Whoniverse.

I saw the Christmas Special and thought it was just too sappy. I know it's supposed to be a holiday show and be positive but bring back the husband? What about (Patterson?) whoever they guy was on the plane that was "bad off" and was told to hang on that they were going home for Christmas. Plane lands, hubby walks out but rest of the crew is ??? Happy ending for the pilot but the rest of the crew gets to bleed out in the fusalage.

I'll probably start a S07 thread for DW, but until then...
