I have a nice lot at the side of my house for cooking out (plus a deck/ etc) and an indoor range 5 minutes away.

Cool. May have more than one cook out then :) I'll see how many wanna take the trip into Atlanta. I'm ok with it (I'm usually good with hour- hour and a half drives) and we'll see who else might be on board with it. I'm still in the planning stages of things. Thanks for the offer Zdigger!

Subjects covered will be emergency preparedness, couponing, and more specific local preparedness topics. Looking through here, youtube, and a few other sites in an attempt to come up with general preparedness info and Georgia specific info. I am hoping to possibly get a few people involved in ZS through it. Might even play a few zombie movies at the end of it :)

I've had some friends pestering me for a go-bag class and some shelter-in-place advice. Perhaps we can work together on this.

That sounds like a good idea Davo. I know that I don't have a "go bag" per say, which is why I haven't posted one in the appropriate forum here. Mines currently more of a "weekend survival / emergency gear / hobby pack". I mean, no survivalist I know of has a polyhedral dice set in their BOB. But few gamers I know have a firesteel, bowie knife, and 3 days worth of food in their pack either :p

If ya'll want, I can send you the 'info' we were putting together for it, and maybe we can come up with something that would benefit everyone. I'm off this week, so if anyone wants to met up, I can drive wherever needed for a chat. And maybe some air conditioning and free refills. :D

Yeah, cool. My wife works Saturday and Monday, so I am available for a sit down anywhere... north of 20 and east of 400, I guess. I live out by Clarkston.

I certainly will contact ya'll as soon as I get thing straightened up around here post-dragon Con. That was a fun, informative, and busy weekend. :) Kinda paused on the info I was putting together the last few days of it, and am just now getting back into the planning stages of stuff. I'll contact ya'll when I've got a few more things figured out.

Probably time to resurrect this idea.

If I put out the word, I'll probably have 6-8 show up for a workshop on putting together an EDC kit and a 72-hour bag.

If we do this on the afternoon of Sunday, November 13th or 20th, I can provide us with ample space in Chamblee.

I'll be out of town the weekend after T-day.

Well, nobody but me has posted here in a month and a half, so I guess there's not so much interest right now.

It's unlikely we'll get something thrown together over the holidays, so perhaps January will be better for folks.

Yeah. Unfortunately, this is the worst time of year to try and organize non-holiday/non-family events.

Sorry Guys Been Busy as hell for me, wife just joined the Army so lotsa changes. But the paperwork for the need lead to take over this chapter and get us up and running is in, awaiting verification from St. Louis.

First Week in December we are doing a Meet and Greet at Quick Shots in Atlanta (Firearm Range) Date/ Time pending.

Also we have a mock zombie apoc in March corresponding with the last episode of the Walking Dead.

That sounds interesting. Is this the zombie run I've seen in ATL?

get some dates/times. Atlanta is hard for my schedule but it'd be worth it I think.

Cool. Looking forward to the meet-n-greet. (just as long as it's not on the 12th - my anniversary...).

I made some signature images for Chapter 016 similar to those for 025 and 026. Feel free to use them if you like.

i noticed lately that we have like no rhyme or reason. Let us guys that are still here get this chapter rolling. I have a lot of experience with the ZSC012 as well as running car clubs and such as well as Army.. but yeah lets get the ball rolling.

ZombieSoldier, though it may not appear that way yet, we have already gotten the ball rolling and activity has actually picked up here from what it was even a couple months ago. we are actually in a transition right now. Zdigger, who's done an amazing job keeping the chapter afloat as president, is leaving and at least one other officer has had big health problems so has to step down. at our last meeting which i think has a thread in this forum, we realized we had to get officers together pronto in order to retain status. We at first were going to hold elections but there simply wasn't time. For now, just this week, we submitted the paperwork to change the guard and install 3 new officers in time for the event Sunday to retain our charter. This week has been a bit crazy trying to get everything together and prepare for the big event tonight at Diesel, but we will be planning events and meetings very soon. I was going to make the announcement about new officers and such once we get a response from HQ about the paperwork (which will probably be after we submit the debriefing for the event Sunday).

We can still hold elections later so that everyone who wants an opportunity to serve as officers can throw their hats in the ring, but right now we have to wait til the dust settles with this paperwork just to keep our charter.

Rest assured we're trying to bring more communication and meetings together for everyone. It's just taking a bit of time to follow HQ protocol and get things together.

Also, there is a new policy with ZS HQ when it comes to forming chapters. Now a chapter can only serve a 2 hour radius so we have to change the name as it can no longer just be "Georgia." I see that you indeed are on the coast and I welcome you to start a chapter out there if you think you can get at least 3 people together for officers. There is absolutely room enough in this state for multiple chapters and in fact it would be awesome to have multiple chapters.

As per the re-org of this current chapter, for now we certainly don't want to lose anyone and I don't think it would do any harm to have anyone from GA, whether they are in the 2 hour radius or not, participate in discussions and such. We do plan on stretching out our meetings and events at least as far as 2 hours from the furthest span of Metro Atlanta (which covers a lot) so that we can be fair to members who aren't in town but we won't be able to do regular meetings further out your way because it does fall outside of the range. BUT I'm sure that if there is something going on out there that may serve the chapter we might make an occasional field trip :D

Thanks for the chapter updates! 2 hours is a fairly large radius...easily getting down past Macon. Perhaps a simple North GA and South Ga chapters to start or something like that. Also, having close chapter relations will help with larger events.

I agree rocketmike. Two hours from "Metro Atlanta" should even reach up to the state border and goes down as far as Columbus I think so a Southern chapter may cover the rest of GA...

ZombieSoldier, sent you a PM with some links to get you started, though I will just post them here, too, if anyone else is interested:
