How zombie proof is your job.

I work for a defense agency. Wire around the perimeter, solid building, and the only armed people are the guards at the gate

And since I live in the area with some of the worst traffic in the area, I'm pretty much screwed unless I can hit the armory on the way out. And I don't have access to that, either.

I work at a Joint Air Base as Security, so if the shithits the fan, I am leaving... nothing worth taking either (M4s and M9s)

Well, provided I'm kept on this same assignment, I'll be good to go. I'm working security at an GM plant with 6 other armed guards. Over 85% of the entrances are welded shut to the buildings and there's more than enough machinery and equipment that we could slide some heavy crap in front of the remaining doors and just use the ladder access to the roof (which if necessary could be easily barricaded). Not to mention that aside from what we carry on our person on duty, most of us keep at least an extra box or so of ammo in our duty bag).

Defensibility shouldn't be a problem, but food might after a while. Most of us are well stocked on trail mix, snacks, etc. Enough to last us a day or so but not much more.

I work for a towing company that also has a 20 acre scrap yard. Most of my time is spent out of the office sweet talking our customers in my POV. If it happened on a day I am not at the office I can get anywhere in my territory to the house in about half an hour with traffic.

If it happened on a day I am at the yard I would pretty much be fenced in food.

I work in a big office. Third floor.

This is advantageous for the fact that I am not ground level and the building is relatively secure with enough fluids (we keep several stocked refridgerators) for several days, even with everyone trapped in the same office.

None of my coworkers know that I have shimmed the door to the completely unoccupied 4th floor, so that I may go up there in the event of an emergency to use as an escape route. There is a ton of wiring and desks and whatnot, so I can barricade both sets of stairs and the elevators, then make myself a rope to get down, but the problem is where my work is located. Downtown Orlando!

If SHTF, I am going to have a very long and dangerous hike home. I live in Daytona Beach, so that's about 66 miles from work. I drive a Corvette, so that's great if the roads were cleared, but if any of you have ever driven on I-4, you'd know that even in the best of times there is congestion. Add in an outbreak and nothing short of a tank will get you from A to B.

Now, if I happen to be telecommuting, the situation changes dramatically. All of my gear, ammo, guns, offroad motorcycles, and attack chihuahuas are all in one place, ready for action.

Let's see... once SHTF officially I'd be one of about 1500 armed people inside a fence with razor wire, with bunkers, tall buildings, and such galore.

I own a small restaurant on a strip mall with about 10 store fronts... i have plenty of raw material such as, rice, flour, canned goods. Meats and veg for the beginning and i could possibly smoke some of the meat up to store it, i do have a oven/smoker...(its closer to a smoker)

The store front is glass... but i think itll be easily covered up with random wood and metal. But the back door is completely secured and i can easily turn my exhaust vent in the roof into a roof access, i do have a 26ft ladder.

Now, the other stores include a
*pet boarding/ day care place (good alarms.. or if low on food....... :shock:

)
* 2 other food establishments (more food)
*a vitamin/ nutrition supplement store (im sure all the vitamins would come in handy)
*a battery store (no explanation needed)
*a gold buying place (maybe for trade?)
*H&R block office (useless)

Then we have a few that are empty so whatever..... if i were able to band the other store owners together and put our collective man power together and barricade the entire front of the strip mall, and maybe punch entry ways to connect all the store from the inside, make roof access for look-outs. Only problem would be weapons, i dont keep mine here (but i might eventually keep a hand gun here) i mostly have a bunch of knifes/cleavers. and a few blunt objects so i dont know how that would work.... i know the battery store owner is big on fire power... but i have no idea how hes set up....but really i think id rather bug out then stay in such a populated area...

I work in a beauty supply wholesalers so there's plenty of razors, scissors, flammables & other chemicals. There's also an outdoor pursuits shop & a gunsmiths across the street.

i work in a small auto repair shop. Two bays with bay doors only on one end other other wise it's a big concrete structure with only a metal door and the two already mentioned bay doors. There are no windows anywhere. Lot's of tools (prybars, hammers, etc) plus the boss has a pistol in the office and sometimes he has his shotguns in the truck (he shoots trap a bunch) he has a reloading machine there with capabilities to produce probably 500 to 1000 rounds of 12 guage shells.

I work at big 5, where the managers and a couple others (myself included) have plans for if shit hit the fan.

Unfortunately, a lot of the ammo we carry is in calibres we dont sell. We do have a lot of shotguns and military grade buckshot for store defense, tons of 7.62x39 for the sks's if we have one in stock, tons of .223 for the minis we always have in stock, and LOADS of .22 for the numerous .22's we have. Plus various mosins with some ammo, and being the best shooter there, id "snipe" from the roof with our 30-06's or 7mm mags.

Everything can be gated off, even the front glass windows and door have fairly sturdy metal gates. All the walls are cinder block, emergency exit doors are sturdy metal. Locking roof access.

Plenty of camping supplies (dehydrated food and stoves and lanterns and such) as well as loads of powerade and cliff bars, enough to last for a while (while not ideal)

Radios, flashlights, batteries, etc.

And plenty of stuff to play with too!

Edited to add: Also, in compliance with forum rules, itd be perfecty legal if the managers marked it all down as store-use supplies! Lol

Me I would be so completly screwed if the zombies come knocking while I am at work. I work on a military base most of the people that are armed is the civilians at the gate. If everything went to hell in a hand basket most of the civilian population would be running right at the base for help. So in other words I am screwed bad. Got my BOB but no firearms so the walk home would not be fun in any way.

Firefighter here, so as far as medical supplies go we're set. We have a bunch of axes and tools of the same nature as well as 15 other mostly strong guys. I think we'd do well. Responding to an emergency would not be fun though during an outbreak.

Taxi driver. The cab I drive is a 2004 Grand Marquis. I know the city well enough that I should be able to drive home while avoiding the worst of the zombie hordes, assuming that the zombies will all bunch up with each other.
