They don't come that way, but they can be made sort of pick-up-ish sized. http://www.100dollarman.com/trucks.html

Just do a search for "bobbed Deuce". It involveds shortening the frame, swapping out portions of the rear-end and using the box from a particular mil trailer (can't recall which) for the "bed" in the cases I've seen.

no mpg difference between the 2. my approx is about 8mpg right now but with stock tires you get between 10-11mpg.

If I could only justify that beast...

You can get them from govliquidation.com and they have auctions starting mostly on tuesdays and end on thursdays. the trucks range from 2-5k for the model i have and theres different models which bring more cash. mine is the basic of basic models. granted those trucks at auction you dont know what is wrong with it or whatnot. parts are still fairly cheap. check out steelsoldiers.com which is a worldwide group that deals with surplus vehicles. remember to search on that site as any question you have has been answered before hehehe

Holy hell... Now I've gotta run some calculations for cost per mile, running off of cooking oil.

Dude... Double digits, from waste products?

Now the question is... How small they make those multifuel engines?

with cooking oil you gota mix it with something as its very thin. oil plus cooking oil is a good combo as it balances out. You also have to watch your seals with cooking oil because it will eat through the old rubber.

I have about 250$ +/- into my pump setup but you figure i ran 10-15 tanks since i've got my own setup and thats paid for itself in its first fill up. Im setting up a trailer with a 300gal tank and my setup on board. i will also have a 275gal tote filled but it will be on the ground.

the smallest MF engine i know of is old Mercedes engines thats been discussed on the boards before. but this is the smallest military one.

I wish we could get them here, would have one in a heart beat.
We can only get Unimogs, which are expensive and nowhere near as cool.

Or LAV`s but i`m pretty sure you cant buy them.

Not sure about over in NZ but here in the UK we can own armoured vehicles aslong as we have the right license for the vehicle weight.
A friend of mine owns one of these: (Not the one pictured) and says its just like driving a lorry. He's Ex Army, Royal Logistics so has every single type of license available in the UK and because its wheeled its absolutely fine on virtually all roads. I've been down the motorway in it. He says other people in his club have full main battle tanks like the T72 and still drive those on the roads around here.

I got really bored and did some math on getting an M35 into NZ a while back. IIRC there wouldn't be much change left from $NZ100K. :(

Are you going to install a bigger turbo? :)

Here's a funny advertisement involving a a multifueled truck. I'm not sure if it's a 5 or 2.5 ton, but I suppose it doesn't really matter, because the advertisement has nothing to do with their product...

That is a nice setup for sure!

I hope I can get a surplus truck too in the near future.

Here in Brazil we have mainly Mercedes Benz trucks.

That truck is baddddass.

There's a nice one on that auction site too right now with a winch and multifuel and low miles. Very tempting to bid on it.
