Hunter Safety Course

Postby DrGonzo » Sat Jul 23, 2011 2:14 am

So I need to get my Hunter Safety Certification if I ever want to strap Bambi to the front grill of my truck. The thing is I'm incredibly lazy, so things need to be spoon-fed directly into my fat lazy gullet. There really doesn't seem to be an obvious source for any Hunter Safety Courses in the Seattle area, and this website is pretty useless to me. The listing for Seattle is in Jefferson County, and the Home Study links don't really go anywhere. Any tips y'all can give me before I start calling the contact numbers on Monday? Is a classroom setting really necessary, or is the home study option just as good? How much detail does this thing cover? I'm assuming that it's pretty rudimentary. School me. Feed me. I'm hungry. :gonk:

Don't we HAVE a Hunter Ed Instructor? Hmm.... I think we could easily do this...

I took my Hunter Safety test online. If you go the online route you still have to go to a class room session to demonstrate you can handle a firearm safely.

I did hear they changed up how they do the online test, so I'm not sure what it's like now....

Sorry, that's all I've got.

Im not a Master Instructor, so I can't help you there. Are the links on the WDFW site not working? You would be looking for a "paradigm" course I believe.

Just find a location near you, call them, sign up, and go. I just did mine, it was a week long and pretty lame but you just have to do it. All the other students in my class were like 12 years old and we learned not to point guns at people.
