My cat who I raised from a three day old kitten died today.

She fell from a sixth floor window and I'm pretty sure she didn't feel anything beyond a sharp shock.

It hurts all the more as she was only a year old, and the last thing I said to her was 'NO!' for messing around in the bins.

Feel so bad.

I'm gonna miss you Schrodinger, rest easy

Sorry to hear that Fletch.

My partners cat was 11 months old when it died from a brain hemorrhage in its sleep.

Always sad to loose a loved one. :(

If I had just remembered to shut the fucking window - I can't tell you the amount of times I'd scolded her for climbing the bloody things, I stop paying attention for ten minutes, and the wind took her.

It's all my fault, I pretty much hate myself right now

My heart is with you Fletch, my Dragon threw up a ball of half digested locusts, and I'm fretting about him, and lord knows what I'll be like when my Staffie goes on....

Thanks guys, to make things worse, here in China there aren't any provisions for dealing with this sort of thing as pets are a fairly new concept.
So to avoid just doing what usually happens I had to sneak out at 2am and bury her in the bamboo near my complex. If I were at home things would have been easier, but my housemate summed it up for me by saying it was just the decent thing to do and I agreed.

Don't blame yourself mate, cats will do as they want. I have always had cats and have never been able to control the fuckers. It was just meant to be and its no good blaming yourself for something like this. We have all done it, move beyond and try not to think too much about the if's and but's.

sorry for your loss though mate :(

Chris

Cheers Doc !!

On a slightly OT note.. with the crash, it did actually mean that I spent a shed load of time looking at survival gadgety things... well when I say "gadgety things" I mean sharp, pointy, cleaving and cutting type things... oh dear.. think that my Paypal account may be taking a bashing... haha ! :D

But still on the look out for a cheap water filter.. hoping I see one of the Katadyn's going on Fleabay soon...
