Vox headset

Do you guys have any recommendations for a vox mic? I'm looking for a set that will work well inside a motorcycle helmet.

I've never really used the vox setting on any of my HTs before because I never had a good reason for it until recently when going on a motorcycle road trip.

I recommend you DONT get one... Its only a matter of time before you transmit something you dont want to transmit.

Unfortunately, there aren't any other easier options that allow me to operate the radio hands free on a motorcycle.

I'll just have to master the control of what sounds come out of my own mouth or something. Thanks for the advice, though.

You can place a remote plug-in PTT switch between the headset and the radio. Mount the PTT switch to the handlebars. Turn on the VOX setting, set to most sensitive if adjustable. VOX won't kick in unless you push the button.

Small plane pilots do it this way.

Wind, Curse Words, You singing, heavy breathing, it all goes over on VOX. Back in my airsofting days, we cursed the guy that had VOX and keyed up on the channel due to heavy breathing and screwed up comms for like 5 min.

you are better off with a button,
I have seen people use bluetooth headsets for motorcycle use with good results
"1911, AK, corn bread, red/blue wire neutral"
people in america still like to pretend they are free, the day they know they are not, they will stop pretending
