Sweet. I've been looking at those for a little while. Have you had a chance to set it up yet? Curious about their claim for 5 person sleeping. I was thinking about one of these for the family when we go backpacking.

No I haven't set it up yet I was going to wait until I got the nest (floor, netting)for it.
I only gave $210 for it new from Golite with the coupon code bsf10. The downside to me is that it's as yellow as big bird, but if you wanna pay $350 you can get the green one.
As far as five people go every review I've read said three to four (adults) comfortably.

How's the vehicle thing going? Did you buy one or what?

Ok, that should be good enough. I'm searching for a family sized tent for backpacking with the kids. There would be 4 of us, 2 adults, 2 kids. That should fit the bill.

Yeah we bought a highlander. Its AWD, I wanted the 4runner but highlander had a hell of a lot better interest rate.

Did they take your knocking trade?
I don't have much experiance with the Highlander, hope it works out for you.
I'm still looking at crew cab Tacomas, I just really love my Jeep and Suburban (not the gas mileage though).

The Shangri-La 5 should work out with your Family (just watch the kids around the pole)from what I've read. I'll get it out pretty soon and try to get some pics of it.
Don't forget, it has no floor, after the $210 you still have to spend $150 on the nest.
You are more than welcome to test it if we both end up at the same bugout.

So who wants to organize the April thing, and who will do the May thing?
And which is the backpacking and which is the camp 'n shoot?

And why am I sooo confused?
Does your BOB at least have: water, basic tools, fire, food, first-aid kit, and shelter?

Regretfully, I had some family emergency that might prevent me from attending April event. Nothing is certain yet... dont have the dates. But I might have to go to Russia much earlier than August and for a whole lot less fun reason than an airshow. I'll keep you guys posted as much as I can. And esp. as soon as I have the travel dates. I should know a bit more in a week or so.

Ok, not sure if I will be able to make the hike trip, so, lets get on to the spring camp -n-shoot. I need available dates for May from everyone interested in going. After I get a time frame, I will start a thread.

The weekend of May 14-15 is no good. It's the weekend of the MEGA Mill surplus flea market and tank show in Aberdeen.

What if for the May "Camp-out" we turn it into a May "Tail-gate."
