That's about right. Kyle is Master and he rides on Pete's Back. They use a strategically placed canteen instead of a metal helmet. It's very popular at the pride parade.

I'd be interested in a bit of training, since I can't make the Milcop session that you all are headed too.

Awesome. I think the idea is that those of us who can will do MilCopp, and then share some basics at ZCON, and that will hopefully encourage people to get some real training (at MilCopp or elsewhere) later on. I think we may try to put together a Fall MilCopp course as well, so people who miss the May one or just see the demo at ZCON can get in on that one. (We're not planning the Fall one yet, we're focusing on May, but as soon as we get back from May we'll start talking about the next one.)

As this would be my fist year, how far from camp do we park? Are the vehicles in viewing distance? :?:

If you have a capable 4x4 that has high clearance and aren't afraid of getting it dirty or scratched up, you can park a couple hundred yards from camp. If not you will have to park a couple kilometers away.

Thanks, that's what I needed to know. As soon as we get our member numbers I will get 2 registered. I hope there is still plenty of open spots.

Note that that "couple hundred yards" is across a river, through the woods, and definitely NOT in viewing distance or convenient to the camping area. You have to go down a steep rock and dirt hill, rock hop across a river, climb up a muddy embankment, and then go down the dirt (okay, mud) road (okay, trench) to the vehicles. Also, this parking area is always full unless you get there way early.

Just a heads up, the last day to get Z-con admission at $80 rate is March 1st!

kyle wrote:Zombie Con 2011 will fall between June 22 and June 26 next year. We will be offering discounted admission for early admission this year.

Register by March 1st = $80.00
Register by May 1st = $100.00
After May 1st = $110.00

Some info about the event: http://zombiehunters.org/zombiecon/zombiecon2011.php

Info on how to register will be supplied later this month.

For those of you recently joining us that don't know what Z-Con is, here is some info about last year's event:

Do you know what z-con needs? More a cappella singing groups. I just discovered Van Canto today, and I think this is entirely achievable. I expect to be entertained at least one of the nights by a group of people making music noises with their vocal cords.

I mean, in the PAW you won't be lugging around instruments, right? So you may as well start now! How else are you going to earn your supper when you roll into barter town? Not with your looks, that's for sure. :D

If you start practicing now, you may even be good by June! I think all the effort needs is a tall, charismatic, artsy person with plenty of time on their hands to organize it. I'm looking at you, Jeriah. 8)

I expect great things.

Now that I have vacation time booked, I figure I should put out the usual offer. Who needs canadian coke/maple syrup/caged moose this year?

Canadian COCA COLA. It's made with sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup, much like your pepsi throwback. It tends to be very popular at zcon, and i generally have a few people who want me to bring them down a case, and then they pay me for it. I'll also accept barter.

In previous years i've also brought things like souveneir keychains, shot glasses, Bovril, butter tarts, chocolate (No acceptable wax content up here) and many other things. There's a lot of cool canadian stuff you guys can't get down south, and i'm willing to bring some along so long as it's reasonable.

Just FYI, the $90 admission will be up until April 1st. Then it gets bumped up to $100.

You could. 99% chance it will paralyze or kill you, but it would be physically possible. If your idea of fun, however is jumping off a cliff onto pointy rocks and snakes you're in luck. :p
