these would be great for water storage, like gutter runoff.
they also have metal and plastic 55gallon drums.

I use these on my farm and they are outstanding. I've had them freeze solid and not bust, but the fill hole is large enough to get a plastic-safe tank heater through.
At $60 bucks (already cleaned) they are fantastic deal. The 2" valve that comes on them is worth about $20 new. Thanks for running this down Takaaco78.

I just called them, the minimum shipping quantity is a truckload. So you have to pick up in store for anything less.

I would love some of these for my house in SC too. A group buy sounds good to me.

I just looked through the rest of the site, they have barrels, crates and water jugs too! I am making my Christmas list lol.. Do they sit on the ground or do you need some sort of platform to put them on? Can they go on a cement pad since they have that wire cage around them?

I think the big tanks sit nicely on a pallet.

I've been wanting to get one of these for awhile now. Not for water storage but to begin my experimentation with aquaponics. I believe I can build a bed and a fish tank out of one of these and use a small solar water pump to keep things operational through a timer. That's a project for the spring. So I guess in Feb or so I'll be buying one and cutting it up. Just gotta figure out the best location in my tiny ass yard.

For everyone drooling on these deals, look on the appropriate craigslist for your AO; I found a place selling the 275G containers for 70$ in Longmont, CO. Here's the link:

http://boulder.craigslist.org/grd/2000146415.html

Do a search for "275 gallon" on the 'for sale' section. Can probably find these anywhere, they're fairly common use.
