New ZS product - OD Water Bottle/Canteen/Flask

Postby kyle » Tue Aug 03, 2010 6:24 pm

A new product is available in the ZS Store: http://zombiehunters.org/cart/

This is the aluminum canteen bottle that became available for stress testing at Zombie Con 2010. It seems to have upheld to the tests so it's available for sale.

Although, I suspect some may think it's actually a 17 ouch flask.

I'm in the market for a new Nalgene replacement or two, and was hoping ZS would come out with one. I missed the boat on the unofficial ones, though, and this guy fails two important criteria for me: one, I try to avoid aluminum because I'm paranoid about Alzheimer's, and two, it won't fit in my Nalgene-sized pouches or accept a metal Nalgene-sized cup on the bottom of it.

So...any chance there's a Nalgene-type 1 liter water bottle in the works?

EDIT: Just saw the post in the other thread that one's in the works. AWESOME. I'm all over that like herpes on a hooker.

Cool I think that middle photo just answered my question in the nalgene thread.
Those gold threads on the flask make it look like its a lined flask.
No heating in this little jewel but funky flavors either! AWESOME!

This though I would suggest a Camelbak version of the Nalgene. It is like a grownup sippy cup and is just as durable as the Nalgene. It is a bit more expensive than a Nalgene though, but worth every penny.

I hate to be the bearer of questionable news, but I would be respectfully cautious of using this bottle rigorously.

I received a bottle with a similar brass on plastic "fine thread" screw cap system and within three months of regular use the plastic threading on the cap was starting to strip. So uh, buyer be aware of possible cap thread failure with prolonged use.

I wouldn't be too terribly worried about aluminum and alzheimer's.

For now, they will continue to be a regularly offer item. I assume if we run low, Kristan/Iloveash (who handles all of ZS's merch) will order more.

I have some SIG flasks from the 50’s except for the OD and Logo, they look exactly the same. That won’t stop me from picking some up.

I can personally attest to the fact that these do a fine job of holding vodka and kahlua.

I have absolutely no use for this product. However I bought one any way, and another tshirt, because I have a problems...
Upon reading one of my posts you should assume that before I post I reread my posts twice and then often again after I post to check and recheck for spelling and grammatical errors. And I still miss most of them because, as it turns out, when you are home-schooled, you are only as smart as your mom.

Maybe not, but aluminum is still no good for you. Why not stainless?
