While the 'ol 30.06 would be my favorite method, I might get up close and personal with a home made flail (fixture chain, half a hockey stick, and some big steel nuts) or a lead filled black jack. I figure a pop or two in the noodle box will lay out a pus bag pretty quick. An old MarkII Enfield bayonet through the eye or mouth might do the trick too.

To be honest, I would probably try to quitely pick them off from my house. With a bow and arrow or crossbow. That is if I get one by the event happening. My plan isn't to kill as many zombie as possible. Its more of just, keep alive and only kill them if they are in the way.

EDIT: But what I was meaning to say is this. I would try to do it with drawing the least amount of attention possible.

no, it will be my Heavy Machetes,sword Heavy Machete, WAKAZASHI and any other things i can find(axes,Tomahawks,spears ,Shovel , pitchfork). when start i keep going. My load right now for when that day comes is my WAKAZASHI and sword Heavy Machete across my back , 2 Heavy Machetes on my belt and my spear or any long weapons i can find in my hand. I am ok with a blade to take a Z head.

have you tested your sword on deer(dead) to see how well it will do? i have and i know my sword will do it job tell i find a gun. I will and can cut a neck and will more then likly take a zombie head with a 2 handed hold.

i've tested my 30-06 on a deer

I will and have dropped whitetails from up to and including 500 yards

ETA: i hope your using roadkill not beating up usable meat
