Hometown: Yakima, WA

Interests: Emergency Preparedness, Camping, Cooking, Hunting, Shooting, Reading/Writing Sci-Fi, Older Technology and my son :D

Bio: I've been a prepper for a while thanks to my dad instilling the "hope for the best, expect the worst" mentality in me lol. I lived through Mt. St. Hellens when she blew in 1980 and that was kind of the wake up call for a young me.

I'm a widowed father of one boy and have survived two personal SHTF situations so zombies should be a cake walk lol!

I am a home owner, have some preps (lost a lot when my house burned down last year so it's slow going in restocking) and I would eventually like to purchase some property for a BOL either on this side of the state or on the west side.

I'm also excited to be a new member here and hope to meet some of you in person!

Hulloo All,

Name's Todd. I'm in North Pacific County.

Never been into the whole preparedness thing 'til I got married (22 yrs now) and had kids (11 and 8 now).

Didn't REALLY get into the preparedness thing 'til after the big one of December '07. Out of power and transportation options for a week here. Sure changed my line of thinking.

I like the idea that if I'm prepared for ZPAW, everything else will be like a camping trip..... maybe one with the inlaws...... but you get the picture.

Navy Vet. Micro-Brew drinker. Liker of the AR-15 platform and the "Coach Gun" config for scatterguns. Lifetime resident of Washington.

Glad to see there's yet another GREAT reason to be from Washington State. SEMPER WA!!!

Andrew here from Federal Way.
Student at UWT.
Interested in outdoorsy crap, guns, weapons of all kinds...dangerous things in general. Emergency preparedness etc. The usual. Have some skills to lend/teach, but way more to learn.

No pics at the moment, but you'd probably know me if you ran across me. I stop in at a lot of local establishments, some of which I recognize in the collective group pics. Might have ran across a few of you from time to time and not known it.

Hey, my name's ********** - You'll find out when I meet any of you guys face-to-face.

6'0", 170lbs, blue eyes and hippie-hair. I enjoy walking, shooting, computers, and freerunning (although I can't do much of the last one anymore, need to get back in shape). If anyone's interested in freerunning together, hit me up via PM - my old Running buddy joined the USCG, haven't seen him since.

I tend to be rather quiet until I get a feel for the situation at hand so please forgive me for being brief.

Just moved to back to Washington from California. Former Navy, currently an author and products tester for outdoor gear.

Not sure what the needs of this group are, but I hope I can fill a niche.

Mark Taff here from Bellevue. Combat veteran (Desert Shield/Storm, 4-37AR, 1ID Mech.). Former Boy Scout. Former Councilmember, City of Colville, WA. Have a WA CPL. Former lobbyist and Executive Director of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (http://www.ccrkba.org). Did the website for the Second Amendment Foundation's (http://www.saf.org) McDonald lawsuit against Chicago, that incorporated the Second Amendment as against the States (http://www.chicagoguncase.com). I was studying aerospace engineering (astronautics) at Bellevue College, but I'm currently on hiatus, taking care of my sick mother. My personal website is at http://www.marktaff.com, though it hasn't been updated in a while.

I've always been keen on being prepared (thanks BSA!), though the Katrina and Haitian earthquake really drove home how bad thing could get, so I'm taking my preparedness to another level.

Hey guys I've been a member at ZS since 2008. I was in the middle of my first Iraq tour then. I just got back from my 2nd tour last week. Great to be back in the NW! Anyway I will be out of the Army in November and moving back to Kentucky but in the meantime I'd like to take part in any activities that may be going on. I have almost the entire month of October off block leave and plan to stay in the area.

Hello, my name is Jeff. I found this forum while searching for some gear recommendations. I have always been a Zombie genre fan and I thought it was a wild coincidence that there was a Zombie Squad. My wife and I have had a long standing "zombie escape plan" in preparation for any emergencies. We get a LOT of strange looks when we talk about it.

Anyway, I am just wanted to say hi and let you guys know I am here. I have a lot of experiences and knowledge I would love to share. If anyone would like to chat about any of these topics, shoot me a PM or post a question.

Nickname: Leo.

Occupation: Papershuffler/IT tribesman.

Experience: Grew up in HI. Spend my time now half in OR and half in FL with CA and WA sprinkled in there. Been a paper shuffler for 4 years, IT faker for about 2 mos.

Interests: Explosives (wanna be a pyrotechnics/demo engineer), firearms (specifically 9mm, 357, and 7.62x54r), Yamahas, my WILLYS MAVERICK!, books, anything disturbing/horrifying/interesting, music (anything loud- Rammstein Disturbed Static-X), videogames (all shooters: HALO, Dead Space, Red Dead, COD, MOH, AO2), movies (mostly scary/historic - House of a Thousand Corpses, Halloween, Freaks, The Red Baron, Enemy at the Gates), food, beautiful people, air races, motorcycle racing/races.

What you hope to learn: Efficient fire building, improve my marksmanship, how to build a sub MOA Nagant, all the fun stuff about the end of the world, being cut off from society (which I find incredibly stupid for the most part- society i mean).

Tell us a little about yourself: Live in/love the country, wanna try city life tho, fairly fit and uninteresting. Trying to get some shit in my life/head sorted out/killed/rammed back into a dark corner of my brain where it will die and begin to rot before it eats me.

Where did you hear about us: I googled "Ultimate BOV" and got a six wheel campervan.

UURAAAA! (not to be confused with "Hooah" or "Oo-rah" - wrong country  )

Hello glad to be here.

Name: Devin or Murf depending upon where in the country I am. Devin is my middle name.
Hometown: born in Columbia MO, but raised in Bellingham WA which I consider my home town
Age: 38
Location: Edmonds WA
Occupation: unemployed, Humanbeing

An old picture of me from when I lived at the architecture community Arcosanti and managed the Landscaping dept. http://www.arcosanti.org if you want to learn more about the place. I am the guy with the hands full of olives on the right btw.
Image

Bio: So a little about me? Well I am a bit of a nomad and have lived all over the US. Even living in one city I tend to move around a lot within that space. Born in Columbia MO, grew up in Bellingham WA, spent time in the Chicago IL area, lived NJ and in Philly PA for awhile and was extremely involved in the punk scene there, studied community life in AZ at Arcosanti http://www.arcosanti.org, moved to Eugene OR to study glass blowing (didn't finish), hopped back to NJ to help my parents put an addition on their house, and now have returned to the wonderful Northwest. Cascadia, I call my home. The Northwest, from San Fransisco North up into Alaska is a region called Cascadia. A wonderful rich bio region that I love.

I have spent a lot of time out in the woods since I was young. I have even lived in the woods while working trail maintenance up in the Darrington area. As a kid I loved to go hiking while other kids went to play in playgrounds. When I got older and found myself in the Philly PA urban jungle I was quite involved in the Punk/squatter scene. I have done some squatting myself and have lived "homeless" a few times. Unlike many I tend to actually enjoy the freedom this allows. These experiences have definitely given me a perspective of what it might be like in the PAW. Since living out of a pack, not having running water or electric in an old abandoned building, living moment to moment with no typical 9-5 is much like what people imagine the PAW would be like.

I have been a self sufficiency minded person for most of my life. My goal has been, since young, to move off the grid into a more self sufficient life. I have been building my skills over these years, and hope to be making this goal a reality soon. To me I feel the richest man is the one who needs the least money. If you are producing most of your needs yourself you have become highly independent and connected to your way of life. Weather there is a Zombocolypse or not my goal is to get out into a more self sustaining lifestyle.
My favorite quotes from Rorschach from the comic Watchmen

"Once a man has seen society's black underbelly, he can never turn his back on it. Never pretend, like you do, that it doesn't exist."

"None of you seem to understand. I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with *ME*!"

Can't get photo bucket to link pics correctly right now, I plan on being active so you'll get to see my mug eventually.

Hello! My name is Bruce and I'm happy to be a member of your fine organization.

Basics about me are: I grew up in Colorado doing all sorts of outdoor activities I love. I'm old enough that my car insurance is low and have no more milestone ages until I retire. I'm still trying to decide what I want to do when I grow up. I have a wife and two sons both under 3 years old right now, been married 3 1/2 years. I'm currently in the USAF, I'm an aircraft mechanic, but currently work as an instructor teaching the new guys how to fix the jets.

Hobbies include anything I can keep my mind on for more than a couple weeks. I love shooting, hiking, camping, 4 wheeling, racing, working on cars and anything I can do that includes my family (which seems like not much right now).

I had a pretty decent store of preparations as far as food and water go in Florida, upon moving here that seems to not be the case any more as all that was really brought was the MRE's and food like that. I am currently working on building that back up. I live in south Kitsap county directly on the water of the sound. I can see the space needle and Mt Rainier from my house which is pretty awesome. i am contemplating moving on base, a post about that will follow. I hope to obtain my HAM radio license in the near future.
Looking forward to meeting some of you in person and hopefully brining something useful to the group, but also to learn a lot.
