SEPA :)

as far as preps i'm not concered.

I have back up propane heat, and enough food/water/ammo to live in and defend my home for atleast a month without going outside.

However i also have a 4x4 f150 and will probably drive all over the place like an idiot

During the blizzard we had earlier in the season i was driving durring the "worst" part.... it was fun

Murph and Stimpy... really it's your own fault for trying to do that winter camp thing. Maryland is in panic mode too and we've had clients and employees calling in to take time off. As for me and mine, we're good and ready. But, this snowfall will be the 2nd time I've been screwed out of heading to WV for the weekend.

NPR was saying that because of humidity and temperatures, it'll fall fast and furious for like 24 hours starting Friday noonish and then immediately start freezing into concrete-like ice. Weeee... I'm still in shock that they haven't cancelled all the schools and sent all the government employees home.

well its probably unlikely an angry mob will descend on your house in 2 feet of snow.

hope the brunt moves north into my zip. We havent been blessed with significant snowfall all year.

And we usually get 3 or 4 decent to good storms.

They're waffling on if this thing is going to hit my part of NY or not. Not worried, all I really have to do is bring the snow shovel inside and move the cars around. But the truck is acting wierd this week, not a good thing for this.

I'm actually kind of excited. I have a weekend off, the house is stocked and a long-planned trip to in-laws is regretfully cancelled. Ooops :)

AccuWeather is promising 100% of 6+'', 80% of 12+'' and 20% of 20+'' in NOVA. I'm planning to grab my camera and as soon as snow begins around noonish head to local grocery supermarket to get some lulz. The media has people worked up into a frenzy. Its hillarious.

Definitely in a panic in Maryland, one airline already cancelled flights after 2pm friday.

I am prepared for anything from a full blizzard and being sealed in to a no-show and sudden superbowl party.

And... why does the big storms always happen on the weekend? I mean, WTF why not snow 20+ inches on a TUESDAY?

Filled the tank and 2 5gal cans, bought some firewood and sodas. No signs of panic in VA, but not everyone is awake yet.

All my preps are in place. I could have used some salt/kitty litter, but I don't really plan on going anywhere. I might have to stop by the 7-11 for another 12-pack, half of it disappeared last night.
Does your BOB at least have: water, basic tools, fire, food, first-aid kit, and shelter?

I just moved into a new place, so my supplies and familiarization are limited, but it should be OK for a short storm(famous last words).

Last nights trip to the shopping center for basic supplies turned out to be a bit of an adventure though. With the incoming storm and 18~22" due around here, not to mention superbowl weekend, it seemed everyone was there to stock up heavily. The lines at the registers were well down the aisles.

I'm all geared up to go up to the NNYWCT, but if things go bad around here(which I doubt), then I might get too snowed in to go winter camping. How sad would that be?

The snow isn't what worries me at this point,....it's the high winds and drifting snow that will probably cause the most disruption.

Just showed up for work, no problems getting in today. :) I plan on leaving in a couple of hours after I surf the web for awhile. Yeah the stores are pretty barren. Although I was able to find that wal mart was fully stocked on ammo yesterday. I guess nobody is buying ammo when there is bread needed.

Snows starting. Its 1020am. Light snow.

He's still doing radio?...and still with WMMR?
He must be getting close to 30 years with them now. Ahhh, memories....

Be ready everyone. Good luck with this storm.

Well, they just closed post and sent all us civvies home. Not really snowing yet, though, so it will either be regarding as overkill or a prudent move depending on when things start and how fast they get bad...

Now it's started. Foot's Forecast (http://www.footsforecast.org/) is saying that current computer models regarding this storm on I-95 from DC to Philly may make current predictions (20-30") seem low...
