Hello Zulu5oscar, I can answer most of your questions.

1. 1st access to site...earlier post said vehicles in site...so does that mean i can haul all my shit there(lanterns, tents, bags)?..im kinda a gear bitch when it comes to camping and always end up bringing a lot of stuff.

The location is my house. I live in a small cul-de-sac and I have an acre of land. he house sits forward on the property so the back yard is rather large and stretched. So access will be to park out in front of the house or in the cul-de-sac if there is room left. We will work out parking as we go.
As for gear, I cannot speak for everyone, but I believe this is supposed to be a test of what you might grab if you had five minutes to run out the door. Or intended to have all prepared to grab as you had to run out of the door. Having said that, I am sure that we do not want to make anyone think they have to suffer while out there. Seanwins will correct me if I am wrong, but we want to have everyone get together and camp out in a mostly miserable manner in the cold to see how our personal gear is suited to it. So bring what you want. I usually have a few things that I might not have had time to grab in a real SHTF incident. But I also have to go to work the day after the event also!!

2. 2nd do we need a park pass? as mentioned in earlier post?

Nope. Just do not block in my neighbors or my wife. I will be there to arrange parking as folks start to show up.

3. 3rd do we bring firearms? and if so are we going to be shooting? need to know for ammo reasons.

This is yet to be discussed. I would say to bring what you like, LEAVE THEM IN YOUR VEHICLE WHILE CAMPING. And we will make a command decision as to going to the range in Whatcom County at some point or just going to a wood spot I use.

4. 4th whats on the agenda? survival skills? crafting?first aid?,sitting by fire and freezing?

Yes. HA! HA! HA! This is a very fluid event. We always encourage people to bring show and tell. To show off their gear.To prepare skill building exercises. And to have a damned good time. I will have a few skill builders and I think that everyone should practice their fire making abilities. So bring what you got and we will work the rest out as we go.

5. 5th..working on the scenario...do we live outta our BOB..or can we "replenish" from our vehicles(clothes, food, smokes)?

See question one part two.

6. 6th eat what you bring?..or do we bring stuff that we can make together?

Mostly we eat what we bring. But this is a group outing so if you would like to have a group meal just coordinate it. Or we can put together a meal like we did in the barracks....."hey what do you have left in your food drawer?" "Not much.....some top ramen." "OK. Let's mix that with the can of Spam I have and that can of asparagus that the Corporal has." "Sounds great!!!"

If you have any other questions or would like to talk to a live person, just PM me with your number and I will call you back. In fact I am willing to talk to anyone that would like to do this. So that goes for everyone, if you have questions you would like answered by a human and not a computer monitor, PM me with your contact number and I will give you a ring.

Making a list and checking it twice.
Don't think we are going to set any records for sure this year - other than attendance!
Looks like 40* and drizzly for the start of this, but heavier rain towards Sunday. Temps look to be in the low 40's during the day and "frosty" at night. As always, that is subject to change.

There is a new moon on the 14th, but since moon set is at about 6PM that weekend it will be REALLY DARK - hopefully we have a clear night or two so you "city-folk" can see what stars look like... the "Current Auroral Oval" is down to Oregon, so there is a SLIGHT chance of seeing the Northern Lights, but the Milky Way should visible just after 10pm.

Current air quality is "Good" with no burn bans in effect. I'll keep tabs on this...

Hoped to have some warm sleeping gear this year, but that won't be the case, we're going low budget again, but we'll have a cot to get up off that cold ground (a "must" from last year).

Okay. I'm bringing a giant 24 pack of butt tape. To pay Meantree back for letting us use his land we should all bring a ton of TP. So in exchange for letting us use his place, he gets a full-on SHTF emergency supply of poo paper.

I'm getting excited! It looks like it is going to be raining from what I can see. Should we put our heads together to come up with some kind of shelter we could all use by the fire?

I think we should over engineer another Teepee out of a tarps, fallen trees, stakes and 550 cord. We could put the fire in the middle.

that's not too far off from the teepee we built last year :) which could have had the fire in the middle. We just needed more tarps, and maybe wider base area to fit more stuff underneath.

I have extra tarps to bring. enough to set up a few lean to's around the fire pit or to help construct the giant tipi.

Also have a extra Thermarest elk camp mattress in mossy oak 77x25x2-1/2 if anyone needs it.

Meantree: Any chance of doing any fishing out there? I want to test out my fishing kit.

Anyone bringing firewood?

Black November might appreciate this more than my leaky air mattress (in august) that I didn't know leaked (until September) since he didn't complain about it.. doh! sorry bro.. Also, Fred Meyer has Coleman 6-8 man tents marked down to $55 locally. Pretty GD cheap if you ask me.. Lots of camping stuff on sale this time of year since you MUST be nuts to attempt camping in January!!

Red Cell wrote:Anyone bringing firewood?

I believe firewood is covered 'to the extreme'.. CC: Meantree

TP is another issue however.. not to be confused with tipi/teepee, but I think Seanwins has this covered until 2012 or so.

I can also bring the "Command Post" that I brought to the summer camp if needed. I still plan to sleep in a tarp tent, but it might be nice to have a large tent to get out out the rain.

I might take Red Cell up on that mattress.
