I also like prep redundancy. BIL, Vehicle load, BOB, BOAT. If you have to abandon gear/packs/weapons do to an situation you need to have backups. If you are forced to leave your house, you usually go for the car, car to BOB, ETC. I know your life would be sucking if your down to a BOAT and a side arm but you will be better than without.
As you gear get's sparser you have to rely on your survival training and less on the gear.
