Making your own laundry soap

Here is a thread started by our resident maid Gunny about how to make your own laundry soap. I'll have to personally advocate this thread. My wife and I do something similar, but make granulated soap. It's a lot cheaper than store bought laundry soap and doesn't make your clothes smell funny to boot. (well, until you wear them) Worth a look.
