Annual Chapter 19 Death Paddle

Post by arrowolf » Wed Jun 05, 2013 3:19 pm

Yes, it's that time of year again...time to plan for another edition of Arrowolf's Death Paddle. Provided we can a river with some water. I'm thinking of a southern adventure along the Guadalupe River this year.

Sounds like fun to me. I still need a paddle for my kayak lol. This may be its maiden voyage.

We're probably in, depending on the dates and such.

We are going to be out of town July 13 through 20. And the weekend of Sept. 20. Not that we need to plan around me, again, just saying.

Hey gang, any dates starting to come together for this event? I have a kayak in the garage begging me to take her out.

I went and scouted the Brazos River today. It looks mostly doable on any section. Haven't really checked on any southern water yet.

Also, I was in car accident last Tuesday and kinda have a bum shoulder right now and am not supposed to do a lot for the next couple of weeks.

Use the time to let that shoulder heal up more and to plan this trip. ;-)

Ok, looks like the only date available is gonna be July 20-21 or late August cuz I've got TDYs coming up for the last week of July (7/28-8/3) and the week of Aug 19. And because of all that, we'll have to run the Brazos. But the flow rate from PK is up so it might be better now than earlier in the summer.

Seeing as how it is starting to get back to a cooler time of year, do we want to revisit this? I would love to do a paddle trip, assuming of course that there is actually water somewhere...

Possibly but water levels are still pretty low.
