Hi,

Just joined so time for a quick intro.

Name: Al
Age: 28
Occupation: IT Engineer.
Location: Northwest.
General: TA - 9ish years Aty, working in signals and observer roles.
Skills: Trained in combat 1st aid, military and private sector radio networks, CBRN, Land navigation.
Weapons (that i have been trained to use): L85A1/2, Browning 9mm, L96, GPMG 7.62mm.

cannot think of much else at the moment.

Welcome Al, even if you are a dropshort.
Follow the Sapper, we're the ones with the explosives, and usually have the best bar set up before anyone else gets here.

Thought I should probably fill this out as I finally signed up as a paying member.

IT Engineer (Apprentice) studying towards a MCITP and NVQ Level 3
SKILLS: Explorer Scout Leader/Helper, I can cook, general IT skills...
WHAT DO I WANT TO GET OUT OF THE UK CHAPTER?
New friends, Learn new skills, Outdoors/Survival style weekends without having to justify myself :p (Or having to deal with children like on scout camps..), Also more cooking over fire..
RANDOM STUFF
Applied to be a member of Berkshire Lowland SAR.. have yet to hear back from them..
Spend way too much time on the computer/inside, need to do more outdoor focused things.
Drive a Peugeot 1007, it has awesome sliding doors :p

I'm very patient in most situations, good with my hands and waterproof. I am house-trained (barely) and have most of my own teeth, plus a few extra.

Looking to make some friends, and eventually arrange some bug-outs when I get back to the UK, I live in Devon, and know some great areas to hike/camp in

Currently on a language binge, I'm slowly learning Chinese, just started on French and am brushing up on my German, but don't ask me to write them, I only know how to speak 'em
Lazy I know but I'm pretty much only interested in the spoken word at the moment

trainee BSL interpereter for the deaf.
SKILLS:
Usefull skills include martial skills, leadership, rope work skills i.e. weaving lanyards, bracelets bottle holders, bags etc. also I'm good with a blade, can pick locks, lip read, sign, trap, hunt, grow plants and many other things.
Useless skills include: i can train rats to do tricks, I make a decent lasagne and i can pretend i'm listening even when i'm not (usefull in an urban enviroment,,,useless at home as the missus can now tell)
WHAT DO I WANT TO GET OUT OF THE UK CHAPTER?:
I would like to broaden my knowlage and meet like minded peeps as well as a place to chill out andwax lyrical (also a zs member number would be nice ZS:010:???? hint hint lol)

too much free time and an IQ of 153 helped me to figure out how, using science, it's possible to live forever, have an afterlife and a heaven,,,,,,,and how if the pidgeons and the squirrels combine forces they could rule the world,,,,only problem with the last part was the lack of opposable thumbs :?

Full time Student at University (2nd year) but work on Army Barracks as a Chef during holidays and the odd weekend. Also have roles of responsibility at said University which involves looking after about 90 First Years.

Medic, Firearms, Archery, complex knowledge of pharmaceuticals (lol), Horticulture, ability to research and argue cases, recording of events (History student), Public speaking, Endurance/Long walks

Meet some new faces, share my enthusiasm and have a laugh while I'm doing it
RANDOM STUFF
Likes to sit and read a book at night, go for walks during the day. Enjoys shooting and getting out into the Countryside. Quiet days are just me doing Uni work and being boring, but always on my toes. I also have Crohn's disease, which sucks, but hey. What can you do about life?

I'm not bad at map reading/navigation, a bit of first aid from a few years back. I can also usually
turn my hand to pretty much anything (except computors).

To meet people with the same mindset as me, get some usefull info, have a laugh and to find out
that i'm not the only one who's barking mad (my wifes words, not mine).
