ZS Nets on Echolink during SHTF

I had something that was bugging me. I am a new ham and am learning as fast as I can but I had a question about Echolink. I believe that its VoIP correct? If so than it requires an internet connection to use and you cannot use it offline. If the internet goes down than communication via Echolink goes down as well right?

Do we have nets on any of the HF frequencies? Do we practice on actual frequencies in case we need to remain in contact during an emergency?

I apologize in advance if this has been mentioned but after searching I did not find anything.

I completely agree, and hope we work up to getting a good HF contact list and even a net going.

Echolink is great for now, while the world is normal. I'm still working on my HF antenna setup myself.

Perhaps an agenda item for one of the existing nets is a discussion on HF operation. Also perhaps we should discuss updating the ZSARC emergency contact list with HF capability and grid location for an SHTF situation.

Just random thoughts on the same topic.
