How Many of us are still interested in ZSARC?

Postby BEar667 » Sun Jan 22, 2012 8:23 pm

Below is a link to a list started some time ago for people who are Amateur Radio Ops. I would like to find out if this list still holds true, and if so how many people on this list are wanting to be members of ZSARC. Please sound off.

I think it's safe to say I'm still interested, but I think this thread pretty much duplicates one started by NoAm.

While this seems to be the same type of posting, I am trying to gather, definitively, who all is wanting to be members of the ZSARC. Not just who among us are Ham Ops. The link listed in the OP has taken a lot of work out of what I am doing. I am just trying to find out who among us wants to be members of the ARC.

To those who want thier names on the ZSARC user group, click on your control panel, from there click on user groups, on the far right side of this screen there is a radio button to select. once selected scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click submit. Making sure that "join selected " is chosen from the drop down menu.

Postby packn_rn » Tue Mar 27, 2012 10:50 pm

I'm interested, I'm a brand new general class. I should finally be able to get on the HF airwaves this weekend (ft-450d, mfj 949e, and a G5RV arriving friday) been studying for extra while I wait.

Let me know if you need any help getting Echolink up and running. You can get started as soon as you receive your callsign & license.

Yeah, I had a question about that ! I don't have a good understanding of Echolink but from what I have read, you need a higher license (extra or greater) to run echolink ?? Is that true or can I use it with my Tech ?? Also, does the program lets you get on the "air" without physical equipment ??

Thanks, Stimp !!

You can get onto Echolink with a Technician license. That is the beauty of Echolink, you only need your computer, but you can also get on with a smartphone or official rig.

Echolink software can be downloaded here http://www.echolink.org/
If this is your first time on Echolink, you will have to go through the validation process. (It will take a little time, not long through) If you can't validate by phone (with the home # listed on your license registration), you will have to scan/email a copy of your license for validation.

I hope this helps, please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
