Washington state hunting

Postby 7.62-ARMO » Wed Jul 04, 2012 2:35 pm

Hey all!

Trying to get started in hunting this year. Already finished my hunters education courses online and got my field assessment scheduled. I have a quick question, during the field assessment, do they just check my firearm handling ability? Or do they also have me take another written test?

Former Hunter Ed instructor here. They will put you on the range for a few rounds using various types of firearms, and the field trial is 99% how you handle a firearm in the field and the only thing that will prevent you from getting your cert is a safety mistake. It's all about the muzzle control.

Thank you. Ended up doing more research and that's what I found out!!

Quick question, how do they want me to complete this form? http://my.hunter-ed.com/wab/wa_specific ... 9dde5581c4
I don't remember this in the classes that I took.

Can't help you on that, unfortunately. I've never seen that form before, but I never worked with people who were taking the class online, other than working the field trials for them occasionally.

Looking at the form, I'd think they want you to fill the blanks in, in other words under "Black Tailed Deer" fill in the General Season Dates, and Legal Deer Hunting Hours for that unit, on the Day of Hunt they picked, And so on for the other blank areas.
From Ghandi's essays "The Gospel of Nonviolence": "My nonviolence does not admit of running away from danger and leaving dear ones unprotected. Between violence and cowardly flight, I can only prefer violence to cowardice. I can no more preach nonviolence to a coward than I can tempt a blind man to enjoy healthy scenes."
