Hey Brothas and Sistas,

Here is a mini update from the Charity Committee lol...

We are going to be throwing our first ZSC: 005 Food Drive / Zombie Movie Night at the lovely "Red Hot" in Tacoma. Owner Chris and I have been chatting about how it will all go down and things are looking good! We will most likely have space for a little zs info, our donations and schwag. We will be throwing down a free raffle, collecting food, watching movies, eating hotdogs and of course drinking beer! This will be a very fun and laid back event!

It has been my vision to have ZS movie nights at a place like The Red Hot. I am handling everything this time around (partly because I haven't done shit for ZS other then drink beer and mainly because it's sort of a one man plan job, I'm not trying to be an anal bastard or anything haha). Our next event will be much more of a group effort.... When I get the exact date, this is what I need from everyone = SHOW UP with as many peeps as you can, bring food donations (canned is good) and your fun-lovin-positive vibes!

I will update everyone as soon as I know more. Looks like it will be a Thursday night (so it can coincide with their weekly movie night) in February. I'm going to be marketing it locally with flyers and I hope to get a pretty decent turnout (might even try to get a little blip in the Weekly Volcano). I have a table for our area, a truck and containers for donations, a roll of raffle tickets, etc... I will have things locked down and it will be awesome! Until I know more,

So far, this is what I have to donate to the Portland silent auction:
Aprox 10 ea. East German mess kits.(new)
One pair of tiny field glasses.(sorta new)
One lame book (new)
one pack towel (new)
one tea set (new)
And one shiney thing-a-ma-bob (new)
Hopefully I will find some other stuff

So how does a silent auction work, as opposed to a raffle drawing?

In a silent auction each item is displayed on a table along with a sheet of paper with the item's name. Each person writes down thier name and bid(s) on each item they want. At the end of the meeting the higest bidder is anounced and the bidder pays out the mollah.

The movie night sounds like a great idea - I'm looking forward to it. Count me in for at least 4 people! Thank you for organizing this. I can donate items for a silent auction as well.

Hey Thanks Coup... I can't say that the idea is too original but it will be a blast! We aren't going to have a silent auction but I will be doing a free raffle. PM me with what you might be willing to donate. I'm trying to keep the prizes zombie themed but we shall see!
