And we want to thank everyone who stayed behind for cleaning up all that extensive earthquake damage in Seattle and surrounding areas so quickly. It looked almost as though the earthquake never happened.

I will get some pix up as soon as I get my home computer back up and running. Can't use the work unit for that.

Sorry I couldn't make it guys, I've been struggling with my own personal Wintergeddon with a drafty house and skyrocketing utility bills! Part of my just wants to flip off the breaker and move into the back shed with a camp stove and a windup radio. :? Looks like y'all had some fun in the cold.

Hope to see y'all at the Red Hot Zombie Movie Night!

Yeah, how about this one? I just ordered that among other things. I love this site.. $20 and it can hold a camera or spotting scope, or be used to steady your weapon for that precise shot you need. Also extends up to 60" to use as that tent pole.

I also ordered a soft bag for my 10/22 so will never be without (again). :D

Would the tip of that pole fit through a grommet?

Yes I believe so, since it uses a standard 1/4-20 thread bolt on the grip for camera mount. It could also be used upside down if needed, since it has a sharp point for use on rocks and ice, but then your grip ends up in the dirt. I will let you know for sure when it arrives.

Ok, the planets and chakras have aligned, and I now have pix.

Image
This is the first time I tried out the Clark Jungle Hammock. Hammocks are notorious for having no insulation between the sleeper's backs and the air, so are usually cold. Clark has attempted to fix that problem by having some closed cells in the bottom that can be stuffed with...well, STUFF, and make a dead air space. It worked pretty good. My sleeping bag was way, WAY too skinny for winter use, but between the hammock's design, a thermarest, and a nalgene filled with boiling water between my feet, it was fairly comfy.

Image
This was the solar CR123 charger that I got for using with the Steripen. I have no idea whether it worked or not, because I didn't use the Steripen.

Image
Here is Black Nov. using his axe. Axes seem to be MUCH more useful than Spetznaz shovels. And they are much easier to spell, too. Goooooooo AXES!

Image
Pasha gets positively medieval and demonstrates the use of striker, stone, and char cloth.

Image
a smoke-nado.

Image
Yes, there was shooting at the end. Don't worry, there were no children riding in on bicycles. That was DropZedFred's bike.

So, it arrived with the other toys I ordered :-) All is good. This pole would work well for the tarp tent support. Here are some other things I couldn't live without:

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemDetail.aspx?sku=15003 10/22 rifle bag
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ItemDetail.aspx?sku=16528 10/22 clips

And finally, the Meyerco 12" heavy duty Axe/Machete

Image

Should make short work of chopping down trees and splitting firewood, as well as decapitating Zeds if necessary.

cheers

 Um, yeah - at 40+, 6'-3" and 280lbs, I figure my BMX riding days are over....

Cold Steel Kukri Machete's arrived last week (2 for $43 shipped - ManVentureOutpost.com) - Lorified has already tested it against the invading Blackberry menace and a downed tree. Good stuff.
