Anyone going to Saturday's chapter meeting is welcome to drop by the WAC show beforehand to pick up event posters and flyers from our table.

Woot! The hotel has come through with event pricing- if you want to make a weekend of it, you can claim the Tacoma Zombpocalypse Discount through the event website link: http://www.tacomazombpocalypse.com/Location.html

Seriously- there's plenty to do within walking distance of this event...

Immediately across the street from the dome: vhttp://www.lemaymuseum.org/, http://www.tacomabookcenter.com/;

Lots of food one block or so away: http://freighthousesquare.com/, http://friesenburgers.com/, http://www.yelp.com/biz/alfreds-cafe-tacoma

Also a block or so away: http://www.bullseyeshooter.com/rangemain.htm (the range) http://www.bullseyeshooter.com/NewBull.htm (the store)

And downtown via a free ride on the streetcar- everything else...

This just in- the 2012 Tacoma Zombpocalypse will have a table at "Red, White, and Dead". Come drop by and ask questions about the event- and while you're there, buy a limited edition signed and numbered art print of the original poster art, or a ZOMBIE HUNTER challenge coin (as seen in my avatar).

Thank you for accepting me as a vendor. If you live in the South you can get a preview.
I'll have a Shelf Reliance (http://nwfood.shelfreliance.com) booth at The Thurston County Fair (Aug 1-5), and the Zombie Apocalypse Expo in Tacoma (Sept 29th). There will be free samples.

We voted on 2 booths for the event (main sales and "lounge").
Paperwork finished, and headed in.

Last chance for pre-registered discounted reserved rooms at the Hotel...

If you want to book a room and but miss the reserved room event discount, there may still be some available during the event- but I wouldn't count on it.

Hey Srodocker- We will take all the trucks you have! We will have room for them on the side of the hotel (confirmed this past week).

Bonus- if we get the additional lot (not yet confirmed), the chapter can set up a full mock refugee camp. So, bring tarps, tents, stakes, and 550 cord "just in case". (basically, your regular load-out, right?)

Also- if you are interested in doing an "Introduction to BOVs" class where the trucks will be, please let me know.

Heh. I don't see why not... ...you have to have a firewatch team present if you set up the night before, right?

Of course, the full "refugee camp" is dependent on securing that gravel lot- which has not yet been confirmed. Even if we don't get the lot, there will be plenty of room along side of the hotel to show off all the trucks and put out a decent "evacuee" display...

But whats a plan without pictures?

Map Link: http://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&channel=fflb&q=2611+East+E+Street,+Tacoma,+WA&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x5490557ec343e0a9:0x9b7e82ba9d03379,2611

(the current an confirmed vehicle site is the short "L" shaped street parallel to and just above E. 27th Street (alley) on the linked map- the zoomed-in satellite image shows the alley with a number of cars parked on a side parking strip- we have that area for sure- right up to the hotel building. ) Also on the sat image, note the large lot on the north side of E.26th St- that is the lot we are negotiating for.

North of that lot is Freighthouse Square- The Square has agreed to host a Food Fair on the same day of our event, so there will be plenty of food options for Zombpocalypse attendees. The event's "Zombie Shoot" range activities will be at Bulls Eye Indoor Range, another block north of that.

Here's the latest on the refugee camp / vehicle display- we now have the entire paved exterior parking lot on the east side of the Hotel (I know, that means no tent pegs/stakes, sandbags only). It cost us a bit extra, but will be worth it.

The Red White and Dead crowd will now be beefing up the com-con with extra volunteers- things are rolling right along on schedule. Class scedules to be emailed out to instructors shortly.

Ok, picked up a plastic M4 and a 1911 for my costume. Shall I make it a clone of my real AR (black w/ FDE Magpul furniture) or go all rattle-can camo?

That Tacoma Weekly article makes it look like we are sponsored by FEMA and the CDC- which we most clearly are not (although we have their hand-outs). Gotta love reporters...

According to the event FB page, no real weapons as props, ammo, or bladed weapons. I think I'm good with an empty orangetip airsoft gun.

Prop guns are allowed at event. (The hotel only prohibits live firearms.)

Our event security team (good guys, headed by a good friend and former marine) will do a weapons inspection at gate, knives and prop weapons will be zip-tied. People open-carrying actual firearms will be asked to take them back to their vehicles before being allowed entry, or suggest they just to go to Starbucks instead.
