Been a while since I posted some of our deals, but I couldn't NOT post this one. ;) Here is the breakdown...

Image

Start with $25 retail for 20 pouches StarKist tuna.

- $6.80 Kroger sale savings

= $18.20

+ 20 individual 50 cent manufacture coupons (each doubled to 1.00)

- $20.00 savings from coupons

= I get paid $1.80 for 20 pouches of tuna. :D

Bonus Round! = Plus 25 Kroger Fuel perks points!

Excellent purchase, actually gift!
Harris Teeter has those on sale for $1.00, which is free with my doubled .50 coupons.
They limit 3 items with coupons per trip, so this will be a store stalking event
Don't forget to get your rainchecks, if they are out! This is where you can make your own sales and really do great things, at a later date.

The missus and I are starting to get more and more into couponing where we can and it is starting to pay off. Now we are nowhere near the level of what you see on TV, and I doubt we'll ever reach that level.
Right now we have so much cereal, it ain't even funny. We are having trouble finding a spot to put it all.
Anyway, the son and I went to Food Lion this moring to use some cereal coupons up that were about to expire. Thankfully, the cereal we had coupons for was what they had on sale.
Here is what we bought:
Cinnamon Toast Crunch (Food Lion price, 2/$6.00)
Multigrain Cerrios (Food Lion price. bogo free so 2 for $4.18)

2-Cinnamon Toast Crunch = $6.00
4-Multigrain Cherrios = $8.36
TOTAL = 14.36

Coupons:
Cinnamon Toast Crunch, $0.60 off of one
Cinnamon Toast Crunch, $0.60 off of one
Cherrios, any brand, $1.10 off of two
Multigrain Cherrios, $1.00 off of one
General Mills coupon (Got on our last visit to FL), $2.00 off when you purchase five boxes
Food Lion coupon, $2.00 off next visit
Food Lion coupon, $2.00 off next visit.
Coupon TOTAL = $9.30

$14.36 - $9.30 = $5.06 for 6 boxes of cereal or $0.84 per box.
The price before coupons and instore savings would have been $25.74 for those same 6 boxes.

This was from a Harris Teeter visit today.
Image

The total started out as $76.10 (with Harris Teeter discounts already figured in). Final total was $11.94. That was an 85% savings.

This is the coupon book that I have made. 3-Ring binder with baseball card holders for the coupons.
I have this book split into 4 sections, each section has a different colored tab for easy reference.
Regular Food * Refrigerated Food * Frozen Food * Non-Food
Each section I have broken down to easily dechipher, while I am in the store.
Baking, canned, condiments, chips, etc.
Whatever works easiest for you! This is how I can find some incredible deals that have not been advertised or if items have gone of clearance.

Not sure how many of you have tiny ones, but if you do or you will have soon you can get a free stroller at CVS this week and stock on a few baby items while you're at ti.

Coupons that are matched with the deal are in the post here along with the deal info in case you want it.

LOL deals are what I do..

Also...does anyone happen to have a copy of the 1/1 Raisin Bran coupon from whatever insert on them? IF it's not size specific (or allows sizes under 15.5 oz), you can snag it for only .77 per box at CVS this week.

Raisin Bran, (7.x-15.5oz) - $1.77, CVS until Sat
Use (1) 1/1 Raisin Bran from whatever insert (I actually have NO idea b/c I had to order the coupons)
Final Price: .77 each after coupon

There's an app for that... :D sort of. If you use one of the coupon databases, you can locate coupons and their sources by product name.

E.g., searching for "raisin bran" returns this value:
Post Raisin Bran - $1/1 - 3/25/12 - SS 02/12/12 R
SS= SmartSource, 02/12/12= Sunday paper on 2/12/12, R= Regional (may not be available everywhere)

Here are two excellent coupon databases:
Deal Seeking Mom
Money Saving Queen

eta: Woo hoo, 600 posts!!!

Thanks..Deal Seeking Mom is indeed a great blogger and I'm unfamiliar with the other one. I prefer to use the coupon database on my own blog though (which is the same database btw..lol). Link is in my signature. ;)

1)Yeah, they amaze me too!
2) However, NoAm is clearly taking advantage of the fact that she's stocked up on the basics. She's gotten good, useful stuff - but meal planning off of that trip alone would be... interesting. Stocking up on sale/coupon so you can wait to the next sale is part of making this work well like that. (I can do the stocking up! It's the coupons that I'm figuring out...) I stocked up on milk on sale a couple weeks ago, as much as we would use before it went off (I know you can freeze it but the freezer is full of on-sale meat&such  ). No coupon/sale for milk in town, so I got just one gallon because we were flat out, regular price (sigh). Eggs, now, they're on sale for easter, and I stocked up on those, they keep much better than milk.

(waiting for somebody to point out some great deal on milk that I missed)

Duo, did you get the 55/2 any eggs? One sec, I posted it yesterday..lemme go dig out the link..

**back** (lol)

http://www.adventuresincoupons.com/eggs-only-72-per-dozen

Link is in that post. Turn off your pop up blocker b/c it pops the Smartsource window in a new window. You CAN print 2 and hopefully you're luckier than me and your printer doesn't eat your 2nd one..lol.

As for what I'm after today..donation items are on the list, along with things I'm low on (low is a relative term..I have enough detergent for over 90 loads..that's too low for my comfort) and a few things I don't have but want in stock (tea...never been a big drinker but at under $1.00 per box, I can see the value of bartering it in a PAW situation).

I don't recall if you said you had a Kroger or not..*if* so, check it. Ours has 1/2 gallons on sale 5/6 ($1.20 each) and HERE $2.40/gal is cheap.
