Walked instead of taking the Jeep on local errands - 1.4 miles travelled.

ZSC:014 made a trip to the Houston LDS cannery last night, so many iterations of
  • lift 25-40lb bag
  • hold while pouring
  • hold paused while they get new cans
2 1/2 hours total.

Just finished 3.5 mile run on Asbury/Ocean Grove boardwalk. Mixed with pushups and oblique crunches. Its nice to have gotten back to running, looking forward to this fall's Tri-state Tough Mudder.

Bicycled 31 miles today, in two 15.5 mile legs with a 4 hour break (teaching) in the middle. (Along the Lakefront Trail from Foster to Hyde Park, for Chicago peeps.) I took 2 hours each way because I'm a slow rider on a heavy bike. So, since I weigh 270...I burned...well, let's call my pace "Cycling, Leisure." So, 1,944 calories.

Plus the exertion made me barf up the popcorn I ate at the faculty meeting, so I'm losing all kinds of weight!

10 minute slow jog this morning. Going to work on the core later today with situps and different crunches. May do a few small reps for the upper body with the 5 pounders as well, just because I can.

2 days no walking - hip/back pain. Made up for it today by bag mowing wet grass with a push mower. Lots of bending during a 1 mile or so walk. Will attempt to get another walk in later.

53 days to Z-day.

The long drag. Mile and a half, fast walking, wearing weighted vest, pulling wagon with my two girls in it (combined weight 110lbs). Every quarter mile, jogged for 50-60 yards. It was freakin hot out.

ETA: Also did neutral grip pullups, while waiting for the pool to open. 4x10.

13 mile bike ride. Not flatlands, oh no. This town was built on sand dunes. Home to work on my upper body and core.

Bike ride to the grocery store and pet store (Snake's grocery store). 20 minutes each way or so. Followed by a short, casual walk through the tallgrass prairie in the park across the street. Not much, but fuck it, it's hot.
