Finished building my first Earthtainer. Not too difficult, just tedious when it came to drilling all the holes in the inner liner. Can't wait to get something in it now.

Sorted out my prep/guest room so it functions as both rather than the random crap catcher it had become. My cousin is moving out here so he will be staying in there until he finds his own place. Can't wait to teach him everything I know. That should eat up a good couple hours.

Today, I dug in a garden plot in preparation for spring... found a crap load of hard, red clay. This will be my first attempt at gardening. I amended the plot with some top-soil and am working up some compost to improve the soil. Hopefully, we can get the garden in soon. Looking forward to giving this a try.

Jagermeister was on sale this weekend so I picked up a case. I showed my friend some things about his new primary SHTF weapon, how to properly maintain it, etc.

I also showed my Ukrainian Au Pair how to dismantle and clean a Mossberg 500. She thinks gun oil "smells like rotten soup." I also reviewed with her the different exits in the house and our fire and CO2 evac plan and how to use our fire extingushers. With the exception of the gun oil she is having fun with it. She says its making her feel very confident living in a safe home. This week I'm going to work on how to get to my dojo using the back roads incase I'm not home and she needs to bug out with the kids. She knows to meet me there and friends will be there to help her. Her father is a 25 year ret. Russian army vet. He doesn't like the idea of her learning to use a shotgun but likes how my home is very prepared and safe for his daughter. I explained to him that where I live there are little police and it can take them 20 minutes to arrive in an emergency. We were on Skype, he shook his head as if he wanted to agree but in his family women don't shoot guns...they are very "old school."

I can't wait until he finds out that she drove the IROC!

Got some exercise bands and did my first shoulder workout. Found a great shoulder rehab routine and it didn't hurt my arthritic shoulders. Also repaired my daily driver.

Pick up some bamboo stakes to build a trellis for my Kentucky wonder beans.
Since my Poblano seeds didn't germinate, I picked up 8.
Transferred the Poblanos and Beans to the sub-irrigated planters.

Just have to wait for the rest of my seedlings to hit second leaf stage to move to planters.

Pulled my credit report and formulated a strategy to attack my debt. Basically it was my plan before, but I was not sure if it was the right plan till I played around with the credit score calculator. I can pull a large score increase in maybe 3 months. Then I will be in position to replace my daily driver. Which I also researched today. Looking at a used prius. More focused in now and if I pull the credit score increase like the calculator suggested I will be saving 50+ a month on car payments. So it is worth it to wait those few months if I can. One negative I did discover is that the IRS doesn't report to credit agencies. I had to pay off their debt and those on time payments would have helped my credit score. But oh well it is not too bad. I have 4 debts to pay off and that includes my credit card and a small student loan. Two smaller debts will get paid off after the credit card is paid down to a reasonable percentage in order to maximize my credit score. I know this is not a sexy prep related activity, but debt is a big issue.

Added 2 new bottles of antibiotics to the end of the world medical stash. Yay!
Upon reading one of my posts you should assume that before I post I reread my posts twice and then often again after I post to check and recheck for spelling and grammatical errors. And I still miss most of them because, as it turns out, when you are home-schooled, you are only as smart as your mom.

Went through all, ALL of my gear. Did a complete TA-50 and weapon layout, so to speak. Got everything organized into different kit set-ups. Checked buckles, zippers and other fastenings; made sure all of the long arms have slings that work right with the gear, made sure all the holsters still work right, made sure I have enough magazine pouches for everything. Identified shortcomings and did a prioritized list of what I still need.
Picked up a couple of Datrex 2400 cal packs to supplement my go bags.

Took wife to eye doctor, then we went to a gardening class. We bought four fruit trees (two types of cherries, an apple variety, and asian pears) and took them with a load of wood to our BOL. Today is the last day we will live in town, we have rented out our house for more than the mortgage and we are moving out to our BOL full-time (an old train sub-station built in 1915. Prepped and loaded trailer and RV to move, currently painting and cleaning basement after fixing refrigerator, and drinking a hard cider. It's been a LONG day!
(Also got 6 chickens over the last few days).

OT: Moved 5x 5 gallon buckets of navy beans and some more ammo to a storage unit cache.

We're going on a little family road trip today, and we're heading into an AO that's a snow belt, so I'm repacking my Jeep Liberty. The weather forecast says we can expect rain today, with temps of 4-12C,with clear skies moving in for tomorrow.

We bought a new jogging stroller to use for hiking and also for a potential bug-out on foot. it came with an infant car seat, so is something we can use every day. It's going to live in the Jeep but it's taking me a while to get used to having a stroller that takes up half the Jeep's rear cargo space. I'm repacking emergency supplies to eliminate the big Rubbermaid bin that used to live in there, filled with everything but the kitchen sink. we went on a weekend road trip last weekend and I felt under prepared so I'm trying to strike a balance.

I've got water, flashlights, tools, hatts & mitts, snacks, etc. stashed in the console boxes, under the seats etc... but the rear cargo area is proving to be a challenge. I'm down to FAK, fire extinguisher, jumper cables, air compressor, spare kit (jack, 4 way wrench, crow bar, etc.), baby bob (ie. diaper bag with extra clothes and formula), my 60 litre hiking kit/GHB/BOB, along with a sub-zero sleeping bag, 2 wool blankets, my winter shelter roll (with rubberized GI poncho, sportsman's thermal blanket, plastic ground sheet, bungee cords, paracord, tent stakes.) and an extra sweater for each member if the family.

Took supplements for my health. Planned out my training and exercising for the week. I also read several articles related to law enforcement for my goal of becoming a reserve deputy again.

I finally cleared out a corner of my library/gear room that had a whole pile of older computers. Gained about a dozen square feet of floor space.

Now I can fill it with preps! (or enjoy the space...)

Something I've heard a couple of people say "Get [something] extra (that is cheap cheap cheap) to share/barter/sell/or otherwise in an Event that could help your position in Event politics and/or good will:

Even though I don't make or keep coffee in my home, nor do I use artificial creamer if I do drink it, today I purchased a cheap cheap pound of coffee in a sealed metal can and an even cheaper huge container of creamer. I'm thinking shorter term bug in to share and generate personal good will with my fellow apartment building residents during a 'truly inconvenient with a bit of scary thrown in' Event where infrastructure is down for a 'longer than most people plan for' period of time.
