I started going to the gym again (it's been about 3 years), realized how out of shape I actually am.
Bought more rechargable AA's
went through my FAK and wrote down all the stuff i'm low on. Now I just need to make a trip to CVS to pick it up.

Took my first CERT* course. It's nice to be around somewhat preparedness-minded individuals for a change.

I still scoff at the 100 in 1 superultramultifunction flashlight radio charger tv fan siren things they suggest buying, but I suppose it's better than having nothing or 1 great thing and nothing else.

Attended a SKYWARN training class along with about 10 fellow ham radio ops from the Ascension Parish ARC. I've attended SKYWARN training in the past but it was time for a refresher.

After work, I Visited the local builders merchants and purchased:-

1) A heavier duty hasp & staple to replace the current one on the back gate. Although the pack included screws, I brought some longer SPAX stainless-steel screws.

2) A heavier duty Steel/Boron alloy padlock.

3) Some Torx-Security tamper proof screws and longer SPAX stainless screws to replaced the current ones used to secure the T-type hinges on the back gate.

I will fit these tomorrow since the weather is predicted to remain warm all weekend.

Topped-up the car's fuel tank from the cans I filled-up with the petrol bought at £118.9 a litre. Felt good since the garage is now charging £121.9!!

Checked the tyre pressures, found a couple of the tyres were quiet low!!! I really need to check these more often.

Filling up on gas is indeed the leading cause of depression in NL.

Filled up on gas too

Started collecting 2 liter pop bottles for water storage. Planning on storing them underneath the futon in the basement. Have like 5 or 6 so far, know we have more around the house. Gotta get some more to see how many I can fit under the futon, and then see how much water that equals.

Ran three miles with the SO and both the shorties. One in a jogging stroller, the other ran with us, which is a really cool recent development. Also topped the tank on the family ride, at $2.65/gallon.

I purchased some first aid supplies to flesh-out my kits. Things like absorbant pads, crepe bandages, hand sanitizer, etc. Also got some chem sticks, a poncho, and a water proof map bag thing.

I spent a while this afternoon trying to light some drier lint with a flint and steel. This has allowed me to draw some conclusions. Mainly that I shouldn't rely on a flint for fire lighting unless I get a lot better. :-) This is just a cheap one I got for a few dollars (from DealExtreme), so I'll just use it for practice until I wear it down, and get a better one for any sort of emergency usage.

Purchased a G19 with Tritium sights w/ my dad's help since @ 19 I cannot legally own a pistol in IL :?

Also, added 6 "Rolled Gauze" rolls. Apparently Wal-Mart stopped selling actual Kerlix, so i found the closest I could. I have plans to get a ~$70 order together for Chinook Med for some supplies soon.

Also, acheived 10 gallons of water storage, and will soon be ordering two 5 gallon MWC cans from DS Tactical to further vehicle water storage in heavier duty containers.

Also sent out a quote request on a ~45 gallon auxillary tank, possible addition instead of buying overprice 5 gal MFC's off e-Bay.

Ran 7 miles this morning, holding a .5 liter water bottle in each hand. They were empty before I got home. 26 days and 11 hours until the start of the Indy Mini-Marathon.
Filled up the gas tank on the BOV.

Quick 15 min workout before going to work.

Yesterday I attempted to sight in my new MN 91/30. Decided I need to get that butt pad and compensator before I try sighting it in again.

Inventoried food in the BOB and INCH into a spreadsheet with expiration date, weight, and calories. (with a description of what it is, and which category it goes in. (meat, carb, dessert, and drink for the most part)

Repacked BOB for better center of gravity.

Currently reworking my EDC/E&E items so that they don't have as many duplicates. I want to make them into one kit that can be added to any other kit I have. (which will have their own items, but not as many backups.)

Looked at prices on inexpensive tarps. I am thinking about buying a 8x10 just to learn the methods of setting it up, and then invest in a better one once I know what I'm doing.

Wished I had the money to buy a whole new pack worth of gear. (so many items I want/need. Purification straw, ferro rods, LM Wave, tarp tent, full size sleeping pad, sil-nylon tarp, surplus poncho, Mora blade, 550 cord, wool socks, etc.)

Walked about 3-4 miles. (parking lot and store walking for about 3 hours)

Finished work on a maille (chain mail, like armor) belt that I sold, so that I could pay my bills this month. Now to finish the 2nd one to pay next month's bills. (wish I had a steady (real) job, so that I could purchase some of the new gear)

got a box full of free FA stuff from my doctor this morning while at an appointment.

picked up two camelbak mules for $20 each, one for me and one for my wife. these will get some basics in them for EDC on the trails we hike on.

also got a new Pelican 1750 at a surplus store for $100 :) now i can decide if i want to use this for my AR and pistol loadout or wait until i get my bolt gun built? maybe end up with a pair of them :)
