Assembled a car tool kit for the gf's VW.

And I'll leave now and try to run the 1.8 km loop trail in the small piece of forrest at my door. I'm horribly out of shape.
Off the internet until further notice.

Took the boy for a hike and talked about tracks, scat and plants. Then we went to the park and picked up a ton of trash before playing.

I taught my 10 year old daughter how to make ranger bands from a bicycle intertube and fire with a 9V battery and some steel wool. I also helped her to make a school safe BOAT i.e.: no matches, lighters or blades. She really got into it. I am really excited to help her learn to be prepared.

Made use of an expanded EDC format I'm considering: CLC nylon pouch that just barely fits in a cargo pocket (of BDU or Utilikilt) with various gear in it. Used ibuprofen this morning for a hangover (for Steph and I), and then pencil so she could do the crossword puzzle on the train last night. Less survival and more everyday-oriented, I'm trying to get into the habit of never saying, "I wish I had a..." whenever avoidable.

ETA: Should add travel toothbrush and toothpaste, as we ended up staying on a friend's couch.

Hit up the local gun show, and bought an Ergo pistol grip, and some Magpul MOE handgards (both in FDE) for the AR I'm about to start building.

Ran 4 miles this evening. I have 62 days left to build up my mileage before the May 8th Indianapolis Mini-Marathon.
Cleaned out two more 1 gallon juice containers and now have two more gallons of water in long term storage.

taught my youngest how to swing a baseball bat

what a grand day.

Stripped down 3 days of MREs for both myself and the wife. Repackaged them in foodsaver vacbags to save space in our bobs.
Broke out the new bivvy sacks and packed our 15 degree down bags in them.
Got CPR certified.

More pre-spring garden prep work. Putting in some things a little on the early side (as we've been having the odd frosty morning still), starting with potatoes and shallots. Potted a small key lime tree for the porch at the missus's request. Not sure if a bat house counts as prepwork, but I'm making one (again, at the request of the missus). Guess in a PAW I will have fewer mosquitoes IF I can get some resident bats. The small amount of guano they will produce can also go into the compost bin for feeding the garden. How's that for putting a prepper spin on a normal Sunday afternoon?
