Possible activities for Pgh area- Shooting competitions etc?

Postby jackal556 » Thu Sep 22, 2011 11:55 am

At the August meeting, I brought up the idea of a ZSC:002 shooting competition. I still have some research and leg work to do, but I'd like to gauge the interest in the area. One idea is a pistol shooting competition at a local indoor range (I think I looked at Anthony Arms) and another is a Class F shoot (bolt action rifle between .22 and .35 caliber with a scope with some other minor restrictions). If we can get enough interest, I'll start making some calls and writing up some more plans.

Then, we could also do something like this...

I'm a few hours away from Pittsburgh but it's something that I would be interested in if it would be on a weekend. Plus I wouldn't mind getting out and meeting a few new people.

Sounds good...another place to consider might be A&S Indoor Pistol Range in Youngwood (near New Stanton). They have AR and AK nights, too.

I'm still working on assembling the plans with the intent of doing possibly doing a pistol shoot in the winter and the rifle in the spring.

Greetings,

My apologies for posting this late, but I just saw this post and thought maybe I could suggest it for an event for your group next year. This is a good no cost event for getting started or refreshed in Practcal Shooting. These are great folks and I liked them so much I joined the club. See the post here:

USPSA is a good organization and every now and then they have a multi gun shoot. Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun stuff.

Several of the local gun clubs hold USPSA style events.

Enjoy your week.
