What is the one food you will miss the most?

Taco Bell mexi-melts and the coconut shrimp and stuffed mushrooms from the local Chinese restaurant.

I'd be lost without Reese PB cups, Red Bull, and beer. I think I should look up home brewing, time for homework.

Undead. I mean, cmon... zombie fish are awesome.

The garage scene in La Horde also elevates that movie to fried gold status.

Damn, this is a hard one. ONE food? Does it need to be a FOOD?

Because I think in the PAW, I can learn to live on the memory of Mac n Cheese, 7-layer burritos, thin crust pizzas, pork fried rice, fresh oranges, avocados, greens, tomatoes, and honeydew melons...

I mean, I won't love living on just the memories, but...

When I'm down, when I'm really missing home, or when I haven't been feeling well and been stuck in bed, or hot in the summer and wanting to cool off, or when I'm just happy and want to kick back and chill with a smile on my face for a while, then I want a Coca-Cola.

I had to think about this for a minute because an ice cold Corona is almost impossible for me to pass up no matter what the occasion. Beer or Coke? How can I ever decide which one I'll miss the most? They're both in the same food group, right, so maybe I can say I'll miss them both equally and/or stock extras of both in my preps. :D

Hmm. Good question. I think i'd miss Paneer Tikka Masala the most. Actually, Indo-Asian food in general would be really upsetting to lose.

And coffee. SMH on losing coffee.
Impossibility is only certain for those who do not attempt.

I think I should add fried fish tacos and a cold Corona. Also, Toll House ice cream cookie sandwiches.

Chocolate, hands down. Even if you have an area you can grow them, cocoa trees take about 5 years to start producing and 10 years to reach their peak of production.

I won't even make it sound like it's a hard decision, Coke. I drink it on hot days, cold nights, with dinner, with breakfast, with alcohol ... I can only store so much in comparison to necessities like water, but I do love it with a passion.

I'm right there with you on that. I think I will also really miss ceviche. In fact I will miss Mexican food pretty hard altogether. I may have to head for the border in the PAW. In fact I may head for the border now and buy some seaside property and set up my BoL resort on the beach, and pack it to the gills with Corona, Coca-Cola, Margaritas, tacos and ceviche!

This thread is making me sad there are no Mexican places near me that deliver.

Oh yeah. Didn't even have to think about it. After a year or so it would be hard to find one that tastes decent. Mexi/kosher cokes especially.

I forgot to mention kolaches. And spicy tuna rolls. And bloody rare sirloin steaks. And crunchy cheetos with louisiana hot sauce on them. And Lone Star beer.

I'll admit, fresh produce, especially citrus, will get me. I've gone long periods of time traveling where you don't realize how little fresh fruit you're having (lots of cooked vegetables, and certain fruits being off limits because of fear of contamination or unfamiliar parasites). It starts to wear down on you, juices only go so far. However if I manage to survive into a PAW long term, Coke will still be the big one for me.

My favourite scene in The Road is the one where the dad finds the can of Coke and gives it to his son. That's when it hit me, I watched in awe. If I were the dad I would have kept Coke and let the kid have some bourbon.

I'm surprised with how many people are listing meats. I mean, Its not like cows will be readily available, and many areas will be overhunted, but I still expect to be able to make a few hamburgers from a half dozen squirrels ...

I read this as "I've gone Time-Traveling for long periods" as opposed to "I've spent substantial time at places..."

It made the paragraph that much more amusing.
