Safely storing meat for a outing. (Not really about zombies)

Post by Bingo » Sun Feb 20, 2005 12:20 am

I am inquiring as to the proper procedure of packing meat in a cooler for safe, and healthy keeping for say.. a camping outing. I am just asking for some wisdom that can be past down.

Anything special or just bury it in ice?

*Also, I have heard that you can make a field oven using a box, wrapped in tinfoil. Along the outside and inside to make a primitive broiler? Please vanquish my ignorance on the topic :)

I think this might be what you're describing.

You can make a solar cooker out of just about anything and aluminum foil. I wouldn't suggest trying to wrap a box in foil and plopping it into a fire or anything. :)
