Paint. I'll be getting a magnet soon and slapping it on the armor that will be over the door like so...

Okay I know I am probably necroing and I know this is bad But since I love planes and learning how they work I am naturaly curious. What are you useing to fix the steel plate to the frame? And Are you just atatching it to unmodified body or are you reinforceing the body itself first?
not to be a total @$$ but aren't we planning for a situation where most plans fail?

Can anybody give me some insight into turning a 2WD 80's model suburban into a 4WD?
I want to paint it OD green, anodize or powder coat the wheels flat black, and I might be able to get a hold of some lexan to bolt on to the inside of the glass (to get out if it rolls).

And I wouldn't mind some specs/info on the armor plating technique.

I'll post pictures of the "burban" tomorrow, it's dark at the moment.

The suburban body style that went through 99 (I can't recall when they switched the suv's, the trucks it was 88-98 but the suv's used to lag a year) the frame was different between 4x4 and 2wd so it wasn't a simple bolt on mod.

Hehe... anybody here ever play Interstate '76?
We had custom cars built to look like the ones we really had (Mike's ol' Bronco, my Ford van, and Jason's Jeep) and armed to the teeth. We'd meet on the multiplayer battlegrounds and have a good
old Road Warrior slugfest.
I wonder if I have that old CD around here somewhere....

I was stoked when they started to make minivans with sliding doors on both sides. I could never understand why vans only had one door for so long. Kinda crappy to only have a door gunner on the starboard side, y'know?

Yeah it looks like I'm going to bet better off just finding an already 4WD model, but having to do that doesn't limit me to a suburban (it's just what I had at the time of the idea) so I'm not sure we're I'll end up with this.

It's neat reading through this, and seeing my post (pg10)...couple weeks ago I put a new radiator hose on the truck, Jen was driving it while her van was down. Crypto and I are waiting on a part to come in for the van, so it can be fixed and driven again.

We painted over the 'free kittens' part. (and the 'free candy' part on the other side) We'll likely have more shots of it at grove-fest this weekend, along with the truck, and a variety of bikes.

Aw, hell. I got a good chuckle outta the Free Kittens thing.
I could just imagine this thing parked near a playground, driver wearing a flat black hockey mask...
or a clown suit.

Come on, he didn't say anything about pedophilia. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt, he could just enjoy the thought of K-12 mass murder. Let's not judge him so harshly so quickly.

Awesome van. Total win. Love it.

No. Actual creeps aren't funny at all.

Parodies, on the other hand, are.

Low jab, JC. Is there a personal issue?

Yep. It's true. Just look at the ZS Van.

The best modification I've made so far to the family ZJ was putting in a washable air filter. That was last year.
