1990 toyota pickup 4x4

Post by LakotaJones » Thu Jun 19, 2008 11:37 am

I am trading my wrecked CBR600RR for a 1990 toyota pickup 4x4. Repair cost is estimated $4000 on the bike, and the truck is fully running with no wrecks. Good deal, yes or no?

The truck has a V6, 4x4 system, with 5 speed tranny. Clear title.

Would you do this trade? No rust on either bike or truck.

I just wrecked my Toyota. They're impossible to kill. I drove mine (86 2wd) from California to Florida and back again. I even smashed into a guardrail and it still runs fine. (It's really ugly now, thats all.)

MAKE THE TRADE MAN! You won't find a more reliable pickup.

Unless the mileage is high (I mean that in Toyota terms- 200K+, 100K on a Toyota is just "broken in" :D ) Snap her up. TONS of aftermarket for 'em, and all the help/advice you could ever need online at the various Toyota Pickup/Tacoma forums. I'm a Toyota man after owning at least one truck from each of the big three, and I have to tell you I am NEVER going back.

I freaking hate you.

And take the deal. And laugh, and enjoy your truck. Congrats on that find.

If it's the 3.0 or 3.slow as it's called ask about the head gasket and timing belt tensioner. Stop by the TTORA website and ask some of those guys about what they think. I think it's a good deal even if it did need a bit of work.

Haha, I got beat to it, but I was gonna put up the Top Gear video of them trying to kill the Toyota truck. They are really awesome trucks though. I worked with a guy who had one, with something like 350,000 miles on it, and it still ran great. I say go for it for sure. Just keep up on maintenance and it'll live forever.

The Tacoma is one of the most amazing trucks ever to come out of Japan, quite honestly. They're almost indestructible. Seriously they're tough as shit, and very low maintenance unless you run them on trails a lot. For mostly street driving with an occasional broken ground excursion you'll probably never have problems.

The 4-cylinder 2.7L is a little more reliable than the 6-cyl but they're both great powerplants. (BTW, 3.slow? Pfffft. It's a fucking pick-up truck.)

you win. except for putting gas in it. Welcome to 15-17mpg.
