Normally I find these sorts of things ridiculous, and don't get me wrong; this one's no exception. But strangely,

Love everything about it excluding the deathtrap dashboard setup.
When I die, bury me 8 feet under, so I'll still be lower than all my friends.

Dash is funny. Very Road Warrior. Is it street legal with back window covered by a steel plate?

Been a while since I took drivers ed, but in California, I think all you need clear is the driver's side window and the windshield.

And both side mirrors.

Varies by state but in the US if you have both outside mirrors you don't need a rearview mirror or for that matter rear window.

Why I say it varies: IA requires a rearview mirror unless obstructed, then requires one mirror on the outside.

Other nations need to check with the appropriate governmental agency.

Dash is just what is under the factory scion plastics... exception of the fire extinguisher where the glovebox was. but the metal tubing et al is what is under there normally.

Exactly. There's nothing between them and all that metal anymore. It does look cool. However, in an accident, it may split their skulls. thus - deathtrap dashboard setup. If his 5 points (which are no longer in the car at all) were setup correctly, it'd be no big deal. However, he's now relying on the factory belts to stop him and a passenger in time before they contact that stuff. He does say the airbags are still in there tho.

seems cool/unique but why to a scion?
looks cool and all but fwd isn't known for its durability / ruggedness.
now if it had like 4 more inches as a lift, a lil bigger tires and rear wheel drive or a good 4wd from a light truck or jeep that would be bad ass

Same reason we do anything - because something compels us to. :)
