Theft is theft, no matter what you call it...and it is currently an illegal activity and thus may not be discussed here.

Three and Gustovski, if you need further clarification of the rules, please feel free to PM me or any of the moderators.

Let's get this back on topic please.

ok no more talk of stealing,

but a bank van would be a good anti zombie vehicle, armored, common (usually based on commercial trucks), has large cargo capacity, has normal controls,
maybe a good buisness to own to stay prepped for zombies is a bank van company then you have access to bullet proof jackets guns and armored vans or you could buy an armored van

And I think you could buy one used, van style, and a bit of paint and you have a greyman armord truck masquerading as a cargo van, suitable for many bug-outs. I'd also throw in a 4x4 conversion and suspension upgrade to handle potential cargo weight and then toss on some tires suitable for off-road use but keep it standard sized - Duratrac by GoodYear would be a good one for this.

I don't even want to dream about zombies in vehicles. They'd make terrible drivers.

They aren't too bad. I don't think a zed, or group of them, could ever penetrate even the more lightly armored ATM servicing vans, though I'd hate to get stuck in the middle of a crowd, in the heat, and unable to drive out.
I used to drive armored trucks, in several classes, for a living, and usually they share a bunch of parts with relatively common vehicles.

I know that is a highly modified vehicle, but what model volkswagen is that??? If possible, would also like to know who did the modifications?

** nevermind, my internet fu was weak,,, found the info,, "The modified vehicle featured in the movie started off as a stock VW Touareg. LLTek then supplied a variation of Touareg styling product from JE Design. The LLTek products provided were the flaring around the wheels and front spoilers. The modified styling kits were then further tailored by the film production crew, in order to create a unique and distinctive vehicle called a Repo Truck."

Too tired to read back to see if it's been mentioned by anyone yet, perhaps by me, but certainly a finalist in this category must be a Herkimer Battle Jitney.

Id get a PLS from oskhosh corp. its got 6 wheel steering (front four and rear two) and it carries a metal container on the rear. it can pick one up off the ground and pull it onto the back. Easy to drive too.

Those 70's series Landcruisers look rather bitching if I do say so!! Solid axle 4x4...sounds like a good reliable alternative for a Suzuki Samurai!

I'd also go for a Mitsubishi Fuso FG 4x4 truck with one of these pimp alum. flatbeds made for the Fuso. http://www.800toolbox.com/flatbeds/flatbeds.htm It's the 7th pic down from the top. If the bed is sturdy enough, mount a winch and loading ramps. Get a small 'conex' shipping container and attach heavy-duty rollers to pull it up onto the flatbed more easily and quietly. Attach metal rings for securing the conex with trucker chains or the like. Voila you got a capable and strong BOV with a temp. shelter!

If these were made domestically for parts availability it'd be sweet-

Some nice Landies here, the last pic in reply #7 (it's a thread in a forum) with the tent on top and the Pangea decal on the side gave me a warm tummy feeling :awesome:

Ironhide would be tits, he would have your back like the four ton love child of Jack Bauer and the Duke... with a voice that approximates Barry White's, if he didn't sing and kicked much ass.

Starscream? We are talking about "Ow my EYE!!" Starscream?!?!
Dude he would whore you out to the Russian mob for hash-laced jet fuel!!! Not to mention even that if for some miracle of silicon randomness, he actually was totally loyal to a meatbag; I could not stand the sound of his voice for too long before I had to carve out my eardrums with a designer cork-screw. :vmad:

Your Dream Zombie Vehicle

When it hits the fan I will be hauling home on my Hog straight to my wife and son to load up my camper and hook up my dodge.

Both vehicles I currently own and maintain. Not bad photography out of a cannon t2i 550D $1400 cam.
