Defeater's Bug-Out FAK - Comment & Critique

Greetings ZS First Aid people,

This is the first-aid kit that is attached to my BOB. It is meant to accomodate the minor medical needs of myself and my family, assuming no better or more rapid medical aid is available. For the most part, it is built to the level of my training, which is lots of lifesaving military (non-combat) first aid, and many long conversations with green-side corpsmen (Navy hospital corpsmen who deploy with Marines). Although it is, in my opinion, somewhat solid, I can't help but feel that I'm missing a fair amount, which is why I'm posting it up in here.

So let's get right down to it:

Image

The pouch itself is a Tactical Tailor Medic pouch in coyote. You'll see that adjacent to it, attached by the PALS webbing are EMT Super Shears (from County Comm, in Desert Tan/Black for awesome color-coordination) and ready-to-deploy tape rolls.

Now, onto the contents of the full pouch:

Image

2x surgical dressings, 5"x9"
1x gauze roll, 2"
2x gauze eye pads
2x gauze pads, 4"x4"
2x adhesive bandages, 4"x4"
1x cloth tape, 1" roll (outside of pouch)
1x coban, 1" roll (outside of pouch)
1x coban, 2" roll
1x QuikClot Sport ACS

1x package Moleskin (pre-cut as well as blank) with alcohol pads
1x package of adhesive bandages, many sizes/shapes
1x medication package, containing:
  • 4x caffeine 200mg
  • 5x sennosides 25mg (Ex-Lax)
  • 6x aceteminophen 500mg
  • 10x ibuprofen 200mg
  • 12x loperamide HCI 2mg (Immodium)
1x bottle Bactine (Lidocaine 2.5% and Benzalkonium Cl 0.13%), 2 fl.oz.
many alcohol prep pads

1x each: Sharpie marker, plastic tweezers, hemostat, multi thermometer with disposable probe covers, 5mL oral dropper, #10 scalpel, 4-0 suture kit, 5-0 suture kit, 1 oz. tube clotrimazole antifungal cream, EMT shears (on outside of pouch)

One of the few things I want in here but don't yet have are those single-use packets of bacitracin gel. I would also like to reduce the giant Bactine bottle to something with a smaller form factor (and a higher potency of Lido if possible). Something that you may notice is that I don't have either a tourniquet or any kind of splint. However, if need be I could fabricate either one of those from things in my pack or just lying around. If I ever see either of those items in a store, for instance, I'll pick them up, but I'm comfortable without them for the moment.
AK, .45 ACP (but aware 9mm will do the job), Red Wire, Pie, Seahawks.

A TQ would be good. Looks small I suggest the SwatT. Rescue Essentials is a good store. Jorian has the hookup. They also sell unit dose packs of everything. Get some 3 inch rolled guaze and non steril 4x4s since they are priceless. I use em a lot. Thats all I have for now as I cannot load the pics on my work computer.
Take Action.
