PRC 77 radios, what do I need to know?

Topics on Radio (CB, GMRS, Ham, etc), GPS, Smoke Signals, or whatever else you can use to talk to other people who are not within yelling distance.

This thread brought back some memories! When i was a recruit in the Norwegian navy back in 2006 the AN/PRC-77 were still in use training, and to this day are still in use with the home guard...

They suck to hump! That's what I remember about them.

Never show skill with one or you can end up in a field TOC trying to do the porkchop boogie with 4 of them on separate freqs.

I doubt if you would encounter that today with 77s, more like a couple of SINCGARS, PRC-117s and PRC-150s, etc. Although the 117s will do SINCGARS hopping.
