CB Radio Question

Post by Bombastic » Sat Jun 26, 2010 2:16 pm

I've seen quite a number of low priced CB radios available online but almost all of them seem to be for installing into your car. Is it possible to convert one of of these radios intended for a car for home use?

You need a DC power supply.

Easy solution-lawn mower battety and a trickle charger lol. You may laugh but when I was in college, a good buddy of mine had his stereo set up like that, car head unit, amp, subs, and speakers. Just a cheap way to go.

Power supply out of a defunct computer.
Shot 'em, now I'm gonna hang 'em, then I'm gonna burn 'em!
Damn Zombies. Can't ever be too dead to suit me.

You need just to add a power supply and antennas to use a mobile in the house.

Wow I didn't think it would be so simple. It'll be much more budget friendly to get a $40 mobile than some $200+ base station.
