Urine is really a very helpful addition to organic gardening (you can also use it to make gunpowder, but that's another subject).
the rules at the homestead
1. everyone pees on the compost pile
2. Worm pee regularly goes into raised beds (pee is collected from a worm composting unit in the kitchen)
3. Collecting human pee and diluting it in a 1 to 10 to 1 to 20 volume in water, makes a good nitrogen fertilzer, best used if fresh.
4. The issue of salinity, is basically a throw away. In a proper garden you are constantly composting soils and adding to the beds so salt levels will never be an issue.
The best fertilzer is to plant peas (rymes with pee) and rotate another crop into that space after harvest. The results are amazing.
Here is a pic of last year's early greens with the only fetilizer being compost, pee and some (very little) chicken poop.
